WKU has a very interesting team - would love to see them do something special.

32nd is not bad for us considering all the players that have moved on. We are still in that underdog role. I like it!

I think that is the same spot we started at last year....I have no issue with the ranking...Clemson is in my opinion way overranked.

Just checked AP Poll we started 2014 at 31st

3 ACC schools in the Top 25...Florida State, Clemson and Georgia Tech...Louisville in the Receiving Votes at 32nd and WKU also in the Receiving Votes at 43rd.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/rankings/ap

We start with #6, at a netral site, but one that is much closer to them than to us.

We play #12 at home in week 3, after a short week.

To say our schedule starts out challenging is an understatement.

But our D will keep us in every game this year. If we can find an offensive line, this season could be special.

If Louisville starts 4-0, with wins over Aurburn and Clemson, we could well move into the Top10.

Notre Dame gets their usual pre-season love.

I think a team with 18 returning starters and a ton of experienced players should receive some love. That being said you don't win a thing in the preseason. I am excited about the potential of this team. Good luck Cards and bring home an ACC title!

Join the conference!!!

Why should ND join any conference? It's obvious that if ND did join a conference in football, it would be the ACC. How would joining a conference enhance the national/world brand that is Notre Dame Football?

At this point ND has no reason to join a conference...they have their own separate deal with the Orange Bowl and their own TV Contract with NBC

That is a fair question. I think, from a fan perspective, wouldn't you be excited about competing for a conference title? It just adds some drama to the season.

As you said, if ND joined the ACC, they would get a shot more than likely at FSU in a conference title game. Could be potential to turn that into a really nice rivalry, ND/FSU.

Thoughts?

As a fellow Kentuckian I would love seeing ND play you guys every year in football. The game last year was exciting and fun to watch. I'm also old school and a conference title means nothing to me as a ND lifer. I became a ND fan 52 years ago come Sept 5th. I also like the national schedule ND plays and having the NBC contract. It's also nice being affiliated with the ACC. If the day should come and the leaders at ND decide to join a conference - there is no other conference I would rather see ND join as a member. You guys are way cooler than that bunch over on the UK Board.

I will answer your question with a question. All of last years P5 conference champions in last years 4 team playoff want to know why ND should ever be considered to be invited to the Playoff since they will never be a conference champion?

ND's stubborn and selfish position of remaining independent and holding that NBC TV contract all to themselves should not qualify them even if they miraculously go 13-0 (not likely, but possible). Yea, probably not a popular stance on this board......but one that would get the Domer's attention and bring them back down to earth and away from that arrogant attitude held by the alumnae of that school. Level the playing field and play nice ND.....we know you can do it if you try.

I don't like to get negative about Notre Dame after they helped us get in the ACC. But, someday in the future we may look back, like we looked back at the Big East, and say, "If only Notre Dame had joined the ACC, the league would have survived."

Notre Dame will always be able to find a seat at the big table, but the deal they'd have signed with the Big East was better than the deal they'd get from the ACC, and the ACC deal is better than what they'll get from the SEC or Big Ten later.

Hopefully it won't come to that!

ACC is stable. No worries about that from me. In the meantime, ND is and has been a great ally and partner for the Cards while they elevate their all-sports offerings. We cost them a Director's Cup or two.

Ara64 no slight to you. We, at UofL, consider ND to be one of our brethren and consider it appropriate to rub elbows with you! GO CARDS and GO DOMERS!!

Well here goes then, I really don't understand why people consider ND selfish and arrogant for wanting to preserve it's 127 identity as a football independent (now partial).
