Agreed. Despite being a self proclaimed sports fanatic and diehard WVU football and basketball fan, I’ve found myself to have nearly walked away. Today I can probably tell you a handful of current player names on the WVU football team. Whereas in the past, I knew nearly every single one and could tell you the names of our top recruits and classes. Now I barely find any passion in following it or caring. I remember the devastation I felt when Rodriguez left. Nowadays, I find myself not even caring that Huggins stepped down and we hired some interim HC. The kneeling over make believe racial injustices, portal, NIL, expansion and top schools leaving the conferences made me this way. It’s just not fun anymore. And it’s a waste of valuable leisure time. I suspect a lot of fans like myself feel the same.
