Dec 20th in Nashville. I live about 45 minutes from where the duals will take place. Taking my Dad and 4.5 year old son. Haven’t gotten to see a match in person since the BJC match against sPitt years ago with my Dad. We’re pumped to see Cael and the boys.

Anybody else going? Any thoughts on if the normal lineup will all go?

If anybody has been to one of these before, is it just a dream to hope for a pic of my son with Cael or any of the guys, or maybe a possibility?

I average about a dual or tournament that PSU is in about every two years, so there are those on the board that have way, way, more experience with this situation than do I. That said, I have never had any trouble finding an opportunity to chat with a PSU wrestler or with CS, or to get a pic with them. There's lots of down time for the wrestlers and the coaches, and it doesn't take too much effort to figure out where you can intersect with them. I've found all of them to be quite accommodating of fans and kids. My only caution is to try to remember to not hog their time (i.e., attempt to have a 5-minute conversation, or try to take all kinds of pics, etc.). They do have schedules to keep, and a lot of fans want the same thing you're seeking, so if you try to take too much of their time, or attempt to take a pic when they are short of time, they, understandably, can get frustrated, and that can ruin things for everyone. Have fun, and good luck.

Thanks Tom! Much appreciated. Really excited for this one.

If healthy and not a huge weight cut the starters tend to start.

tOSU vs ISU should be fun. ISU has the potential to win up to 6 matches but 3-4 is more likely.

I went last hear and the PSU fans tended to cluster on one side of the arena beside the mat assigned to the good guys. When you get in, it’s best to scan the arena (it’s not huge) for the PSU shirts. After grabbing a seat, you will have no problem snaking down to the floor, back hallways, and the large practice room where our guys hang. The place is a monied private school with outstanding athletic facilities and with a little patience you will have no problem at all meeting a few wrestlers. Journeyman runs the event in a fairly leisurely manner with big time gaps between duals … so maybe you’ll catch the guy with the big square jaw when he’s not working.

Last year this event was held at Ensworth High School and this year it will be held at Montgomery Bell Academy. They are located relatively close to each other. Never having been to MBA, I don't know if they will have a setup similar to last year or not. We will make the drive down to Nashville as a day trip, heading there on Saturday morning and heading home after the last dual where we would arrive back home between midnight and 1AM.

As long as the roads are ok, I am going to drive down from Detroit next wkd. Will make a stop in Bourbon country Friday, stay in Lville Friday, and hit Nville sometime Saturday. My OG girlfriend from high school lives in Nville so she'll hopefully be coming to the matches as well.

This may be the first PSU matches I’ve missed live in I can’t remember how long.

My buddy set up his wife’s bday party for tonight in Atlantic City. Dinner at 6 and dancing/gambling afterwards. He set this up months ago.

My wife lost her voice earlier in week (slowly coming back). Trying to get her to say she’s sick so we can stay home so I can watch the matches. Not happening. She’s all excited for tonight, should be a great time actually.

I must be a sick man. Is it me or are others here the same way? I’d rather be watching Blaze/Knox, SVN/Valencia, etc.

Going to try to stay off forums and social media tonight, but it’s gonna kill me😂

is it rude to have the matches on mute at the dinner table? If I do that, I can forget about any late night fun with the wife

Any advice?

I love it! Tonight is my family Christmas celebration with the in-laws. I’ll definitely be peeking at my phone and hoping I don’t get into too much trouble when I try to convince our buckeye football loving host to let me cast to his big screen in lieu of the CFP. Good luck!

Whisper to your wife while clutching your abdomen "something I ate isn't agreeing with me". Excuse yourself to the bathroom for an hour and a half. Load a fart app on your phone to be used whenever you hear any footsteps outside of the door, and let fly to send them running away whenever needed.

If that doesn't work, there is always Divorce?

Spoiler alert, in case you can't pull it off, we win both.

My experience with Cael and other wrestlers are (not being a homer) very approachable in downtime spots. But you will need to initiate with most of the kids. If I randomly see Cael someplace I'm sure he sees my body language change and he always says hey how is it going and thanks for coming. Not sure about the arena logisitics though.

Hey, boys...a couple things for those attending. My sons go to MBA, you are in for a treat. Amazing facility for a high school. It is a better venue than last year's. My son has practice this morning from 10-12pm prior to the duals so I will be there early and hope to get some time with the PSU kids. I attended the Scuffle years ago and the PSU guys were easily accessible and all willing to take pics, including Cael.

I saw pics of them in the room yesterday and most of the starters were all there. If you go down the set of steps to the right shortly after you enter the venue, there is a hallway that is off to the right that leads to the wrestling room. The indoor turf field will be to the left. I am not certain, though, if they will have that stairway blocked off or not.

If anyone wants food recommendations, I'm happy to provide a few places.

One difference with Penn State wrestling on Saturday is that everything will be on one mat. Penn State wrestled on Sunday last year and that took place on side by side mats. That will also happen tomorrow, but for today...everything on one mat in the main gym.

Any place nearby or towards Green Hills/Belmont to go after the duals where we can watch either CFP or NFL?

Yes it's rude. You should have the matches on speaker.
For something completely unrelated I don't play anything on my phones speaker.
If you get a phone call from me I'd keep me off speaker as well, if you don't you've been warned.

Sam’s Place is less than 10 min west…lots of TV’s and good food. Hop Doddy’s down by Vandy/Belmont is another good one. In Green Hills, Corner Pub…just to name a few

Jon, you're obviously liked here but we need to rehabilitate your image a bit after the rankings debacle. I'm thinking that a great injection of good will would be for you to share your Flo streaming login with the board. Just temporarily. Like through this weekend, or maybe just through March.

So I was taking a little walk around this morning and saw a couple team buses outside a hotel next to mine. I went inside hoping it might be PSU wrestling ... but alas, I was disappointed (slightly) that it was Duke Women's hoops
