Collins was just on the Sirius College Sports Network with Chris Childers and Rick Neuheisel. Childers is a huge NU fan and pumps the Wildcats whenever he can. To introduce the interview, they played the Sinatra "High Hopes" song, and Rick gave the story of the 1995 football season. Collins said when he was hired, someone gave him Barnett's book, which he read and found very useful to give him ideas on what is was like to make a turn-around at Northwestern. I hadn't heard that story before.

That's interesting. CC's use of the Stonecutter's credo immediately reminded me of GB's use of the metaphor about priming an old well. Of course many coaches use these kind of tales for motivation.
Watch out for the CSN jinx. Coach Leonard Hamilton of FSU was on with then the day before Collins, and #6 FSU got spanked at Ga Tech by 25 last night!
