The key is "when I was growing up."
Shoot, when I was growing up I thought we were national title contenders every year. There is a certain wide-eyed optimism that is a part of youth. I would fully expect any kid to think we had the best team ever. Every season. At a certain, age and maturity level, though, reality starts to dominate.
I haven't seen a lot of doom and gloom so far. Now, I've been around long enough to know you're crack on anyone who says anything less than glowing about our team, no matter the product on the field. So I take it with a grain of salt. You're at least consistent in that way. The honest, unvarnished, objective reality is that we haven't looked that great so far. Swain has been great. D has been pretty solid. Offense has been a crap show. I asked you in another thread, but you never answered. You're always coming down hard on anyone who says anything that hints of negativity, but I have not seen you back your opposing view with argumentative support. What specifically have you seen in the product on the field that makes you happy?
If you're position is simply that you don't think fans should ever say anything negative about the team, no matter what we look like. Fine. You're entitled to hold that position. But you keep hinting that you're happy with the product so far, and I'm just curious why.
