I don't claim to be an expert in the matter. Comey answered that question in a similar manner. But that doesn't matter. Nixon was forced to resign the office for similar activities. I believe that is the only precedent i know.

Trump tweeted about taping Comey on Friday May 12th.

Comey testified that he, after the Trump meeting, went to his car and used his computer to document the conversation. The next day, the NY Times runs this piece.

Not even close and I lived thru it. Was in college. Nixon was paranoid. He fired the special prosecutor looking into wrong doing. Comey was not nor has he ever been a special prosecutor. It is totally different and Comey wasn't involved in a criminal investigation and he ahs said so himself.
