A feasibility study is underway to determine if it makes sense to have one of Butler County Community Colleges campuses relocate to Penn State Shenango. Shenango expects 325 students this fall and the CC campus is down to 55 students.

They have to be bleeding red ink. The number of students is smaller than my high school graduating class. Talk about fiscal irresponsibility.
But we're always told Penn State is in financial trouble because the state doesn't provide enough money

Even a PA legislator can see through this nonsense

Yeah, six varsity teams would constitute a fair percentage of the overall student body. It might be what saves them in the long run. They include a recruit me link - https://www.shenangoathletics.com/recruit_me - under each team. Also, check out their sponsorship - https://www.shenangoathletics.com/sponsors/sponsors/Current_Sponsors

Good for them!
My daughter is being recruited by D3 schools for soccer and we've been on a bunch of visits in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. We visited a University last week in which 35% of it's 2500+ students are athletes. It's more common than one would imagine.

Anybody who is involved in high school athletics knows what you’re saying is true. I can point out multiple schools in the mid Atlantic that specifically tell their football coaching staff that they need to bring in at least 50 freshmen every year for enrollment purposes. They will also want the soccer teams, volleyball and field hockey to bring in at least 10. They told me that they know only about half of those potential athletes will stick with their sport for four years, but they hope that specifically the fall semester kids will enjoy the friends that are making and potentially join the Greek scene and that will keep them there even after they decide they no longer want to play.
