Have not one single time in all of stoops tenure seen this good of a puss rush in a football game during his time here. I've never seen us get pressure on the opposing team's QB against vs a cupcake let alone an SEC team one single time in stoops tenure. This is the first time I've been proud of our defense since stoops has been here. This is what happiness feels like as a UK football fan. I haven't experienced this feeling in a while. WE HAD A SUCCESSFUL PASS RUSH FOR ONCE. WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO.

Nice win for the good guys. Stoops did a good job preparing the defense this week.
We are clearly improving on both sides of the ball. I believe we will continue to progress throughout the season.
I am by no means saying we turned the corner. Stoops is an awful coach. No way around that a win vs a terrible HC who couldn't win with roster loaded with 5 stars let alone an awful SC team doesn't mean anything. Just for the first time In 4 years I saw a pass rush and it was beautiful. As I previously stated before the game SC is garbage and we still suck. This game was a battle for worst team in SEC. My preseason prediction was 4-8. I'm still sticking to it with a shot at 5-7. Which is exactly what I said before the season. Stoops is awful, needs to be fired. But it's fun to win an SEC game once in awhile.
We obviously have a more potent quick strike offense with Barker but Johnson played pretty well. But we're now going to be primarily a running team until Barker gets healthy. As long as we keep winning I don't care.
Good job by the Cats D tonite, SC is not as good offensively as NMS, but they were MUCH better on D than the Aggies.
Maybe Stoops taking over the defense really was the difference. For the first time all season, we saw an effective halftime adjustment last week and a defense that played hard and pretty well all game tonight. I'm pleased with the effort and happy for the team. Hopefully they can take this and build upon it.
Listen. We suck. SC sucks. Stoops is awful. And Muschamp is one of the worst in the biz and honestly maybe the worst hire I've ever seen in general. It was a battle for worst team. For just tonight. This team was a different team. We didn't allow 50 points for once. And Alabama is going to massacre us next week. Stoops needs to be fired today so we can find a coach who can maybe coach decent players. We're an awful team no way round it. But we did win an SEC game. Which is VERY rare for Mark Stoops.
I give it where it's due. But we no good. SC and Muschamp are terrible. I'm still all in on firing stoops. But it was fun to see a win.

Good win for the Cats. They did look different on defense. Attacked more and took some chances which is exactly what they should have done against a frosh QB and an anemic offense. Kudos all around.
Oline is so bad at pass protection, it negates any advantage Barker may have as a passer. Johnson threat as a runner compensates for his weak arm also.
I think everyone gets that USCjr isn't a great team. I have been bitching about Stoops, Eliot and Barnhart all week like everyone else. But, I can be happy with this win given they way they were playing at the beginning of the year. Still don't know if Stoops is the guy or not, he has more to prove to me for sure. For starters, how about going down to Tuscaloosa and being somewhat competitive.
Any kind of a beatdown UK might suffer next week completely erases any goodwill built up toward Stoops the last 2 weeks (err, 6 quarters). I enjoyed the win tonight though, even knowing the opponent wasn't that good. Love me some Benny Snell Jr! He and Boom were huge tonight. SJ was fairly smart with the football. Ware, Jones and the 'D' finally showed up. If they continue to get better, we'll see...

I absolutely loved the game tonight. I'm not all in on stoops but he earned a few more weeks tonight. I was there tonight and will be at the next game. Baity was really impressive.
Thing is when he has time, like what we saw last week. His arm isn't weak AT ALL IMO. If he gets more time to pass, which means OL needs to improve, highly unlikely, but if they were to improve then I believe his passing ability would be a big time threat. He can throw the ball when he he time like we saw last week. Thing is he just needs time.
After all of the rumors and speculation today this shouldn't have surprised you.
Any SEC win is a good win. Especially when you are behind at halftime. I hope the players enjoy it!
Ok. Win next week and I completely change my mind about getting rid of Stoops.
