.45 is the diameter of the largest part of the bullet/round only...the inside of the barrel will be slightly larger or there would be a big problem when firing.

thanks for the info guys, I really just went pheasant and quail hunting (using dads 1100), and never used the .45 I bought long ago. I have a Winchester 30.06 I bought for deer hunting but never used yet. (just used bow so far) the 30.06 is dark with a carved walnut, I want to get a 870 dark with a carved walnut, so I guess that Kimber I posted attracted me, being dark and wood looking grips.

I do have 1 more question, when I would shoot a 1100, the safety was right behind the trigger, you just pushed the button, and red meant fire. do the make any semi autos like that? where there's just one safety button by the trigger? everything I see has the magazine release there, and the safety is up by the slide or built in the trigger, or is in back of the handle..I wish I could get just a plain safety like they made on the 1100. leave one in the chamber, then just one simple click when ready.
maybe that would just be on a revolver?

redwine65...the safety and/or the handgun action is something that I would encourage you to research thoroughly before making a final choice on a handgun. I have owned almost all different handgun actions at one time and all of the handguns I own now are DA/SA. This is just a personal preference and many others prefer different actions and I can certainly understand that.

da/sa means you pull back the hammer with the trigger the first shot, then everything after that the hammer is back already. that's how a semi auto should be.
I looked at them hit a glock with a pencil on the trigger and the thing went off. so glocks are out.
I heard some old cop on you tube say most police shootings are by the police shooting themselves.so I'm defiantly about safety. I seen a HK that had a pretty interesting safeties, like 3 ways you could use it. I guess with the colt or Kimber you just leave it cocked with the safety on, but you still have to make sure the back of the handle safety is compressed. it sure would be nice if the made one like the 1100. one simple click then pull...all right there.

Let me ask all you Dirty Harrys out there what exactly is it you plan to do with your concealed carry ?

Are you going to be like Harry and save the day when someone holds up a restaurant and all its customers ?

Sorry about your things bros

Red, ACP= Automatic Colt Pistol

I carry to defend my self & my family, should someone threaten deadly harm. Likewise, I can just walk away from trouble knowing what is on my hip.

No love for Baretta or The CZ lines?

I'm all about the CZ's. The CZ-83 is fairly small, but a bit heavy for EDC.

I really like the CZ 75 all steel compact. It's alloyed brother the 75D CPR is next.
Weight is not a deciding factor for me. Also, I favor a decocker, condition 1.

I carry a Berretta Cougar. Was a bit less than a CZ 75 & goes BANG every time. Great ergonomics.

Also have the CZ-85. Do you carry IWB, and if so, what holster preference?
