Concealed Carry

Do you conceal carry and if so what kind of holster do you prefer? Inside waistband, outside waistband, pocket, ankle or shoulder? Thinking about keeping my handgun with me when out in public with all of the craziness going on. Seems like outside waistband is the easiest but is harder to conceal. With inside waistband easier to conceal but might require clothing alterations. Those are the 2 I am considering and just curious with other's experiences.

Most of the time inside waistband (IWB) at about the 4:00 position.

I light carry a Glock 43 with a Multiholster.....link below.

https://www.multiholsters.com/shop/...lsters/inside-the-waistband-standard-holster/

It’s quick to put on or off. It’s pretty comfortable, but I wouldn’t want to carry anything heavier with it. This is what I carry most often.....with 1-2 extra mags.

I also have a Glock 19 and 23 that I carry with Aliengear.

https://aliengearholsters.com/shapeshift-iwb-holster.html

It’s much harder to get off/on, but it’s so much more comfortable.....and feels better with larger/heavier guns. This is my second carry option.

I also have an ankle holster, a pocket holster, and a IWB for my S&W 638. This is my ultra-light carry.

Probably next purchase. Thank you overreaching government and rioters for making my wife want a gun!

Shoot it first. I have one. It is an engineering miracle to have that many rounds in a gun so small... but it is still a tiny pistol and has all the drawbacks of any other tiny pistol.

Your wife may be more comfortable with a bigger gun (insert Dr. Boat joke here.)

Same here. Don't have any guns now. Wife has ALWAYS been adamantly opposed to gun(s) in the house. She mentioned a couple weeks ago...'do you think you should get a gun?' Then started talking about safety...where to put it...etc. No kids in the house so no concern there.
My brother and two sons carry. Son-in-law carries. His wife (my daughter) shoots but don't know if she carries and their kids all shoot. Live in N. Georgia so they actually just go out back of the house (700+ acres of nothing_) for target practice in an area that's basically a natural gun range shooting against a hill.
Guess I'm the odd man out in my family.

Was talking to my buddy about my new purchase and he has a buddy that is a former Sig rep in our area and has nearly everyone of their guns. So, we're going to go meet with him and get some more education on them. Hold them, ask questions and all that good stuff.

Agreed.

It's amazing the differences (and similarities) between firearms. It is always a good idea to hold, manipulate, shoot, break down, and practice carry before you buy.

You also should also be honest with yourself about what your preferences are. The difference between carrying my S&W 638 and my Glock 23 in terms of size/weight.......shoot, I barely notice the revolver and the 23 feels like a boat anchor at times. Each person is going to have to balance shooting comfort and carry comfort.........as well as round count, etc.

When is someone going to come out with an IWB holster and the pics are of a fat guy with a muffin top hanging over his jeans? It's always a skinny or muscular guy. I am betting 75% of CCW folks are not shaped like the models in the pics.
This. With my belly, I have no good options. So I pocket carry either a ruger lcp2 or M&P

Worse thing about getting older is losing *** mass. Cc used to be pretty simple but my pants keep slipping down now because my booty is shrinking. I've been debating just going with a shoulder rig if it's not extreme heat and I can wear an over shirt or jacket.

I'm not posting a pick my muffin top, but check out the Crossbreed Supertuck IWB. Very comfortable for a fat man like me.

I have the both the standard and horsehide version. I personally prefer the horsehide.

Reminds me of the King of the Hill episode where Hank's diagnosed with "diminished gluteal syndrome". Doctor prescribes him a prosthetic *** and Hank is back mowing the lawn like was 12 years old again.

Might work for cc, too.

Love my Glock 43. Have the crimson trace laser and that thing is surgical.

Just bought a second 43 waiting for it to come in. They are almost completely out in the US I had to buy at auction and pay $2-300 more than I did last time. Worth it.

Also bought a 43X for my dad which is bigger but has the 10 + 1 capacity I think. He really likes it as well for Cc but too big for me.

I have a sticky holster that I keep in my pants front pocket and it fits perfect and is easily removed if needed.

I am working on getting my concealed carry permit. 2 month waiting list in Indiana right now. I just have a month to go.
I have a Taurus G2C I'll be carrying inside the waistband.

That's pretty similar to what I want to carry. I have a Taurus PT111 Millennium G2. I am not sure what the difference is between the G2 and G2C.

I’ve had my ccdw in KY for many years but it expires next year. Since KY changed the law, we don’t need it any more. Not sure i will renew, especially since I’d have to go to downtown Louisville to get it.

I still keep mine. In case you go out of state it can still count for certain places, bypass background check when buying a gun, etc....

I don't have to go to downtown Louisville as I'm rural far western Ky, but I renewed because I go into other states fairly often to places such as Nashville, where I prefer a weapon close by. To me, it's worth the extra bucks for that reason alone.

I do deliveries maybe once a month and that's pretty much all I cc. I'm not out in public a lot. I have a S&W 642 and got a BodyGuard revolver for the little lady. Actually I prefer hers. Both are easy pocket carries. I'm ex military police and was taught to be aware of my surroundings, so I don't think I'll be in an extended shootout. Most situations I'm likely to see are going to be close up. For a close up thing, though not great, I'm good enough that 5 shots will be enough. I do like to carry something larger in the van just in case I need it.

Are you guys really that threatened to be out in public without a weapon. Where in the heck do you hang out?
I get gas in Louisville sometime so there ya go. Hell just driving through Louisville on 65 seems to be enough nowadays.

Do you carry supplies in your vehicle to change your car tire? Do you have a first aid kit in your house or car? Do you have smoke detectors? Do you have friends or family who are a little different?.....or are they dating/married to someone who’s a little different? It can go on and on.

No chance I'd risk it going downtown. I live right across the river in Sellersburg. Used to work downtown before getting a new job on the east end. Now I cna take the new bridge. Wife would have made me quit my job if I was still downtown with all that is going on.

The 938 runs like a 1911, so you’d need to be comfortable carrying “cocked and locked” (I’m not). I am of the opinion that an external safety on a carry weapon is apt to get you killed unless you practice to the point that clicking the safety off is second nature. PS: I think Sig has discontinued the P938?

Kind of hard to conceal, but I have a WW1 German rifle. Dad brought it back after WW2. My understanding is by WW2, the German soldiers used a newer model, while the one he had was used by the railroad police. He used it for deer hunting.
