Cant they just be DVC South (Napes, Valleys, Brook) and DVC North (Wheaton-TriCity grouping without additional schools)? Would Lake Park and Gbard North consider MSL membership (being located somewhat adjacent to the Schaumburg area) or would they beg back into U-8?

That's actually a good idea if they did two cross over games between the North conference and South Conference. North would be all the smaller enrollment schools and South would be the higher enrollment schools.

Problem is that only works with 6 teams in each division - and that means EITHER GBN or LP hanging in the wind. Don't think they would do that to GBN and LP. I think WWS and WN are going to start with a completely new slate and Im sure those 6 schools are talking to GBN and one or two others to get the new conference to 8 teams

DVC has always said they wanted to be 8 teams. They stated that in all the articles prior to bringing the valleys in. Even number in the conference is what everyone shooting for.

Doubt MSL would go for that. Fairly resistant to adding to the conference.

As a Wheaton North alum/parent/fan, its a bittersweet thing.

Sad to see us leave the DVC as a founding member, but the conference doesn't resemble close to what it used to look like, so I can get over that. With WWS enrollment projected to drop the next few years and WN dropping or staying close to the same, I understand the desire to be in a conference with other teams of similar enrollment. Sounds like the 4 U8 schools get something out the new proposed conference as relates to scheduling lower level games etc.

My guess is GN comes with WN and WWS. LP??, sure wouldn't seem to make travel any easier for the Lancers.

What could an 8 Team "New DVC" or "new name conference" look like?

* Naperville Central - 2875 student enrollment
* Naperville North - 2767 student enrollment
* Waubonsie Valley - 2576 student enrollment
* Metea Valley - 2841 student enrollment
* Neuqua Valley - 3764 enrollment
* ????
* ????
* ????

From Southwest Suburban - that is a mess down there 13 teams some small schools and some of the 15 biggest high schools in the state all mixed together.
* Target - Bolingbrook? - 3549 student enrollment
* Target - Lockport? - 3594 student enrollment

From Southwest Prarie:
* Target - Oswego? - 2676 student enrollment
* Target - Oswego East? - 2461 student enrollment

From the Upstate 8 Valley:
* Target West Aurora? - 3728 student enrollment
* Target East Aurora? - 3711 student enrollment

Oswego's make sense on a lot of levels....Bolingbrook as well but who knows these days.

Also this story has been on the EDGY Nation side for what almost a month? Check out the Rumorville post on the EDGY Nation for lots of scoop and speculation

Would expect the Oswego's and Bolinbrook to join potentially. However, also in play is Naperville Central and Naperville North head to the West Suburban potentially. And the Proviso's headed elsewhere from there.

I would highly doubt the NN and NC to West Suburban. My perception is that D203 and D204 have grown pretty close/chummy and both administrations really like having all 5 Naperville/North Aurora schools all in the same conference. Lots of the kids know each other across all 5 high schools from travel sports and a zillion other things. I think Valleys and Napers going their separate ways again that would be the last resort and only if they couldn't find 3 members that wanted to join.

If at least 2 of NC, NN, GbdN, Lake Park is game, and R-B or Glenbard South balled up, you could keep the Provisos and have a West Suburban Bronze division based either on enrollment or recent football performance.

I agree with your statement, but I have heard it is being considered seriously by the D203 upper administration. Most likely if they can't get the Oswego's and Bolinbrook, and are left looking around.

That would also mess up their recent cross-over scheduling agreement with the CSL. Prior to that iteration of realignment/scheduling, I could see Lake Park in the West and Vernon Hills in the East.

From an enrollment issue, NV has topped out and will be decreasing for the next 7-8 years. It will take a few years for a upcycle again.
203 and 204 have done a lot together so I don't think 203 would be leaving.

I would like to see the 2 Oswego school and Bolingbrook come in.

Does the SPC play a full round robin like the NIC-10 or does each school skip 3 other schools on the schedule like the ESCC?

Lake Park and Glenbard North would be the teams to join Wheaton North and South. NN, NC, NV, WV, and MV would be left holding the bag. Whenever a DVC school struggles on the field, the answer appears to be to leave the conference and the stiff competition. West Chicago, Glenbard East, West Aurora got their asses kicked so they found a weak conference. WWS has a few down years and now they want to leave. West Aurora has 3,700 students... I guess they are not big enough for the DVC. NN enrollment is down over 300 students in the last three years, and will continue to drop. Maybe we should leave too. Bolingbrook has already rejected a DVC invitation so forget them. Now is the time for the NIPPL to be unveiled. Northern Illinois Private Public League.

Let me start out by saying I was partially wrong about 5-6 transfers coming into NN there were actually 2 2018 kids that transferred and both are making an impact pulse my overzealous friend at St Francis that gave me the info told me that the other 3-4 kids were class of 2021 freshmen that tested and ST. F and said they were going there. Apologies for my misleading post

This however is not true. The remaining Naperville schools approached da Brook and asked them to join the DVC, da Brook asked who else was coming on board and got no answer. In Da Brooks defense it's hard enough to find 2 non con games a year imagine having to find 4!
