Conference Title Game Prediction Thread

I think we need this thread to safeguard democracy and free expression. After all, football vigilance is the price of freedom.

Here goes:
B1G: MSU (I think QB play gives them the edge here)
ACC: Clemson
SEC: Bama
PAC-12: USC (I think it's really hard to beat a team a second time; and this board will melt down like Fukushima if SU wins and reaches the playoff)

Not sure about this board melting down if Stanford wins. For those still holding out hope for a New Year's Six bowl don't we need Stanford to do well to help us in moving up in the ratings?

If Stanford loses to USC, is there any scenario where they would be matched up against NU in a bowl game? That would be sweet to meet them in a bowl and smack them down again. In the afternoon. In California preferably.

Other than perhaps some schadenfreude directed at some nebulously define media interests, there is absolutely zero benefit to playing Stanford again this year.

I'd rather play an SEC school or even Notre Dame.

Stanford because any day that USC loses is a good day.

B1G: MSU (Comfortably - Iowa scores less than 10 points)
ACC: UNC (Clemson seems to be ebbing while UNC is rising)
SEC: Alabama (Not close and painful to watch)
PAC-12: USC (Coin toss but I am going with the fact that it is hard to beat someone twice)
AAC: Temple (defense wins championships)

B1G: MSU - would like to see Iowa win, but Dantonio often seems to find a way to win close games

SEC: Bama
PAC-12: Stanford - hey we beat a damn good team

I don't want to see dOSU make it to the Final Four. If Iowa beats MSU, would a 1-loss dOSU jump a 2-loss MSU even though MSU beat them?

Didn't Nebraska put 38 on MSU but Iowa won't score more than 10? I think your overestimating MSU or underestimating Iowa.

Not big on the transitive thing. Iowa's offense matches up very well against some defenses - ours for example. However, I do not think y'all match up well against MSU. I rooting for Iowa but do not believe that it is a good match-up for you. Particularly your offense versus their defense.

B1G - Iowa is more consistent. MSU is more talented but has been prone to mental breakdown. I'll go MSU by a fluke play.
ACC - Clemson but a FG. UNC may win this if they can get their offense going but I think the Clemson defense is better.
SEC - Alabama runs away with this. Florida will have trouble scoring.
P12 - Stanford. USC doesn't have a defense. Stanford has just enough defense to win.
AAC - Houston because I live in Houston and that's the sum of my knowledge on the AAC

Iowa over MSU in a very close game.

Toss up in Clemson vs NC game.

Alabama clobbers Florida.

Stanford beats USC.

Toss up in Houston vs Temple.

Nah. Would be nice to beat them again, but if they win it supports the whole narrative that we were lucky to beat them in the first place. Besides, who wants to play someone you've already played in a bowl game? Not me.

How much would that potentially cost Northwestern if Stanford stole a slot that Iowa or OSU would have been able to join with MSU in the playoff games? Assuming all the New Year's Six, including the playoff games, pay the same the money differential would not be immediate, However, if the two B1G teams end up playing each other for the National Championship wouldn't that be a huge $ bonanza for the B1G or is there some rule capping out what one conference can take home in such a circumstance?

Assuming it means more money to be divided by the B1G I am all for getting two B1G teams into the playoff games and leaving Stanford home. Otherwise, it could only help our SOS for Stanford to advance and along with some other chaos just might get Northwestern up to #10 or #11 to qualify for a New Year's Six slot.

Wow. Clemson won 45-37 after a ref totally robbed UNC of a recovered onside kick with over a minute left and UNC with three timeouts remaining. The ref called UNC for offsides when the closest UNC player was about a yard away from being offsides. One of those plays that really makes you question whether a conference agenda affects the officiating.

Especially since that is the second obvious and game-breaking official call in that conference this year.

Strange too that they couldn't review the call. Seems like anything and everything should be reviewable on an onsides kick.
