It's not so bad. They don't grow up overnight, for one. It feels like it sometimes, but not literally. Second, it's the worrying that will turn your hair gray. Get busy doing something that addresses it. Finally, speaking of "doing something," raise a daughter whose judgment and character you trust and who can take care of herself. I don't mean "take care of herself" strictly in the sense of self-defense classes, but also how to recognize when people respect her for who she is and how to avoid people and situations where she's uncomfortable.

Still not overnight, but here are some very specific things you can do when she's still a toddler: don't force her to hug and kiss people because she should have a choice, even when she's two; minimize how much people talk about how pretty she is because she should look for approval in things beyond what she looks like; and discourage "boyfriend" speculation being pushed on her because that should happen on her timeline.
