Hats off to the Hornets, they're a great team. I'm so bummed about my boys from LWN losing, but it's been a helluva ride this year. Undefeated regular season with a conference championship is nothing to sneeze at. I wasn't at the game, but I followed as much as I could on Twitter. I'm happy they battled back to make it a game, and they never laid down. It's a shame that'll be the last game they'll ever play, but LWE just got a big fan right here. Can't wait to see how the North team transitions with East, and they'll be a great team next year.

Anyway for right now, lets go HS and take care of Crete and get that championship!

I was a great game and to see how the community came out for those kids was amazing. I have to give the Hornets nothing but respect after shaking hands on the 50 the Hornets grouped up and gave LNW community a round of applause I thought that was a great sight to see. Football is a great game and brings so many people together from all walks of life and build so many bonds.

Thanks for sharing that prouddad4, that really added to my understanding of Hinsdale South's players and the coaching staff. What a great group of people. Go Hinsdale South.

Congratulations to HS.
QB Sean McCormack played a great game. Kept his cool when flushed out of the pocket and threw and ran extremely well.

A lot of questions have been answered from the beginning of the year, such as how will they replace the athletic QB from last year? How will he handle big games? HS double edge sword with that passing attack and the pounding running game that Curry brings is tough to defend.
LWN has a great deal to be proud of....those kids fought like junk yard dogs to the final whistle. Class kids and class coaches!

Great stuff. Cheers LWN on the perfect response to your district leaders.

I loosely followed HS after they played GW early in the season. They are a class act and can hang with anyone. Great fans also. They played a tough schedule and now they are reaping the rewards of being battle tested. Go Hornets. I hope to see you in DeKalb.

Honest question for you as I was at the game. Why was the atmosphere in the first 3 quarters so quiet? I mean, for a team that could possibly play its last game ever I thought this place would be in a frenzy.

Not sure if you were around before the split? The north kids like from Frankfort Square were already a part of LWE. My kids happened to live in the Square before we moved to the village. What people don't know is the mix of the two areas really brought a strong talent together. I expect this should be a very easy transition. It's like they will be coming back home. I think it's great. Heck I was surprised we weren't getting Mokena kids too since it's right there? I guess they will go to West or Central? Anyway welcome back maybe we can get back to the championship game?

Great job by LWN!

Go East Baby!

Corey,
I was around before the split, you have been gone for a while.
Mokena, to their surprise is going to Central.
The kids who are going to East next year were between 3 and 7 years old at the time of the split, so it's not really like going home for them since they have limited memory of the glory of East.
I'm sure the LWE team will do very well next year.

I saw that and was wondering what they were doing standing at the 50 yard line and clapping towards LWN. Then I realized it was LWN's last year as a school and football program.

Anyways, South just looked damn good out there. Up 35-14 in the 4th I was comfortable and was ready to go home. Then LWN's QB started to scramble and look like Russell Wilson out there.

u cant come up with a reason?

Not sure MCHS will be able to stop the triple option of PR. They haven't played a team of this caliber since last year, and this team is solid.

C-M has unreal athletes, and if HS gets into a track meet with them, this could go bad quickly.

PR hasn't seen a defense like this all year, yes they run the TO good and they will put up some points but I can guarantee you this they will not stop our offense they haven't played a team that runs the spread all year athlete for athlete Montini hands down IMO.Now anybody can get beat on any given day but I have Montini by 3 scores

Prairie Ridge beat Crete-Monee (who runs a spread offense) 52-33 Week 9. That's why we play the games.

I don't think Montini is not going to be able to stop Prairie Ridge.

Look at points for and against stats....
Those stats mean nothing Montini's had played probably 7 full games with the starters in and the rest of those games they have been out by half.could they have scored 80 on of bunch of those teams of course but that's not what they do.

for most of the games Montini pulled starters. PR did not. Don't go by points.

This going to be interesting. Not sure we are going to be able to see the best these teams have to offer. It's a blizzard in Lombard @1230

PR knows the snow would take away Montini's passing game while their offense is all built on the running game. I would not respond back either if I were them.

But during the handshake after the game I would ask, "Did you get my message?"

So proud of all my boys these kids played their hearts out. I salute this team for their sacrifice, commitment to each other and the manner they carried themselves this year. It hurts now but they started a tradition this year.#NewbreedofHornets

I was really hoping for HS-MCHS. Great run for them.
