I admit I had a flashback to the Miami robbery and thought replay was going to rip this one off.
I'm glad we won because we never gave up and I'm not trying to be negative but I think we might've gotten lucky that it wasn't a reviewable play because of what I think is a bit of a strange rule because I think if it had been reviewable it likely would've been reversed to a made field goal because when they showed replays from multiple angles and from the angle from underneath the goal post it looked like it was just inside the upright
Can only review if the ball is not completely above the top of the goalpost. It was on that kick. So no review.
That being said, I thought the initial angle showed pretty clearly that the ball was above the goal post and not inside, therefore no good.
Great game. Our bowl games have been the must watch games for the last 4 years.

My thoughts too. That low-angle shot is the one that seemed to tell a different story. I feel bad for the IU fans but after that Miami game , I don't feel THAT bad.
That shot came from the middle of the goal post to where the refs have the straight up view. It was over the goal post not just inside. IU can fell robbed if they want too but they weren't. If they want to see robbed, they should watch the Duke and Miami game.
Great win for the program! We finally get a call to go our way! Can you imagine what we will hear from the "hole" crowd!

It was still hard to call even with the different camera angles simply because in one it looked good and another it looked like it wasn't good. Just hard to tell and even if is was review able I think the call would have stood because it wasn't enough there to reverse it. OFC
Yeah, that rule is weird. It seems like you'd need the option of reviewing it the most when the kick is higher than the uprights.
That angle they showed from underneath was from the middle of the crosspost, so it was at an angle itself. Had it been reviewable, I think it would have fallen into that inconclusive category that would allow the call to stand as made. Had the ref called it good, same thing: inconclusive evidence for overturning it; call stands.
Had the basketball team been the beneficiary of such a call, I'd take the win, but I'd have a much louder thought in the back of my mind about the grief we'd receive in the media, on message boards, etc. After the Miami game, though, I feel like we were due to have something break our way, and this was nowhere near as bad as that, if it was bad at all. I'll take it.
It was a great game with a lot of plays that changed momentum for both teams. It was starting to look bad for Duke towards the end, but thankfully an Indiana receiver dropped a TD pass that would have made it near impossible for Duke to overcome.
I used to laugh at the idea of Duke reaching a bowl game, much less winning one. But after 3 consecutive years of finding ways to lose, they finally found a way to win one. Great game and an important one for the program.

To credit of IU coach Kevin Wilson he was quoted in N&O as saying kick was not good...
I saw his post game interview. He did handle it with alot of class. He said they missed too many opportunities to score and Duke made enough plays to win.
Congrats to the Blue Devils! It was a close call on the fg, but I believe it was the correct call. On the replay that shows it from inside the goalpost looking out distorts it somewhat because you can't judge the depth of field well from that...a case where 3d would be required. And yes the coach handled it like a man...kudos to him.

I think it was this close because of the ugly helmets we were wearing lol. Glad we won was an exciting game. I thought we shoulda kicked the fg when we went for it on 4th toward the end and we woulda won in reg IMO. Hopefully this keeps the recruits rolling in
It wasn't a true road game, though.
Great win for Coach Cut and our boys. Glad that the seniors went out with a win. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going through the spring into fall.
