Tonight another season has become history. The accomplishment of making it to this final weekend are sometimes lost on the results of the games. I often believe in the words of Woody Hayes, “ you show me a gracious loser, and I’ll show you a busboy”.
On this particular weekend, I couldn’t disagree more with that quote I like so much. To every young man that competed this weekend you reached the top of your field. There aren’t many people in life that get anywhere near that point in anything they ever attempt. Those crowned champions be proud yet humble and those that fell short be gracious and remain hungry to never lose again.
Thank you to all that coach, play, parent, report on and follow this great game. It’s been another wonderful season and I can’t wait til next year.
