I'm not sure if I've ever seen a more gutsy performance than was put on by the Tumility brothers and the rest of the Willobrook squad last night. Both boys go both ways (as well as a lot of other players on that team---I think they played maybe 14-15 kids in total), #6 playing QB/SS and #23 playing SR/RB/FS. Both were taking mean licks, popping right back up on their feet and then giving it right back the next play, every single play for four quarters.
#23 had numerous tackles and pass breakups, plus numerous receptions/carries including the game winning TD reception *and* the pick 6 right before half (also took a nasty shot on a pass reception over the middle in first half, but was back in there shortly thereafter). #6 also had numerous tackles, carries and completions as well. Also have to give credit to all the other WB kids who played lights out, just that the Tumility's combined performance really stuck out in this one.
I started thinking to myself When are these guys gonna start to wear down? They didn't (I assume because of the hundreds of Pittsburghs that the Gebhart brothers must have had them run over the past couple years!). Although HC was able to run the ball effectively, they shut down HC's pass attack and never broke on any drive (forcing many punts and two FGs in the redzone). Then when it mattered most they shut down the run on HC's last two drives and came up huge on a 4th and 6(ish) to end it. I hope someone has video of the #23 Tumility running thru HC's 6'6 TE a couple yards short of the first down on the turnover that ended the game.
Congratulations to the kids and staff over there and if you have the time get out and see them play this year. You will not regret it. I look forward to cheering on Willobrook for the rest of the year and wish them the best of luck. Really something special going on over there.
