Tyrese Martin is out 2-4 weeks with an avulsion fracture of his left wrist.

Adama Sanogo, the dominant low post big man, is out, a couple of weeks, to potentially longer than that.

Well that will help our chances but I would rather play them at full strength to see exactly were we stand at this point of the season.

1. Taz and McNeil have both missed a FT, which is the only ones that I'd count as "we have to make". Gabe has missed the others. He's not a guarantee.

2. We cannot rebound worth a lick. We can't figure out pick and roll defense worth a lick. And we can't close out on shooters without fouling them.

Got to just fight and finish, hopefully get a win.

Gabe 2 of 6 from foul line rest of team 3 of 5. UCONN 1-12 from 3 and leading scorer RJ Cole held to 4 points.

I'm sorry, but Gabe's production on defense does not balance his complete ineptitude on offense. The occasional charge taken or steal is not enough to overcome WVU effectively playing 4 on 5 when on offense. And his trips to the line essentially being empty possessions is unacceptable and frankly, pathetic.

This WVU offense is as embarrassing as any offense Brown as put on the field.

As I type this, WVU has a 6 minute scoring drought while UCONN goes on a 10-0 run. How Huggins is NEVER questioned is a detriment to WVU basketball.

I like Gabe but when he gets fouled going to the basketball after missing the shot is essentially a turnover.

Want to complain about UCONN scoring drought?

And Gabe’s rebound won the game. Want to say that again?

Played a watered down version of Georgetown tonight but it will look like a good win at the end of the year due to the early Georgetown ranking.

many areas to improve on. Always depends on how much the players buy in to the current season and if Huggins is willing to adjust his schemes. Will be an interesting time once WVU hits Big 12 play.

Edit: UCONN (not Georgetown)

Good on the rebound for that one possession.

But cue the hordes of myopics to cite one play. How many points does he cost WVU by the empty possessions his trips to the FT produce? How many points are left on the table with missed gimmes and the opponent essentially being able to ignore one player and be afforded extra concentration on the couple of WVU players who are offensive threats? Could Taz or Sean get one or two extra baskets a game if the defense is forced to account for all five WVU players?

But he got that one rebound the helped seal the win. WVU won, nevermind UCONN being out two primary players and shooting terribly from 3. WVU shot a % from the foul line that should make middle school teams hang their heads in shame. But, WVU won. So it doesn't matter. All's well. Keep whistling past the graveyard. Just like last year. All the way to an embarrassing 2nd round lose to a double-digit seed.

Some fans are never happy. Win by 50 and you're still bitching about 2-6 from the foul line. Who gets their players in foul trouble? Gabe. So sit down and STFU.

ABSOLUTELY. TWO MOST CRITICAL PLAYS AT THE END WERE GABE'S REBOUND AND MAKING FINAL TOSS-IN TO McNEIL SO THAT HE'S THE ONE SHOOTING THE FREE THROWS. 4-6 ON A NIGHT WHEN EVERYONE ELSE COULDN'T MAKE FREE THROWS FOR WVU. TAZ KEPT US IN THE GAME. GABE AND McNEIL MADE SURE TAZ'S EFFORT DIDN'T GET WASTED. I LOVE THIS TEAM!

Eeking out wins at home against an injury-plagued opponent and relying on it to put out its worst shooting performance of the season and then coming on here and acting like all is perfect. Seeing a W and nothing else. Resting on laurels.

Ohhhh yeah, so what if WVU shot worse from the FT than Suncrest Middle and so what it had another terrible offense night. It still won. So it works. So don't complain.

What a fvcking retard you are.

I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP USING THAT WORD TO INSULT OTHERS. IT'S A SLAM AT EVERY FAMILY WITH A CHILD OF BRAIN DEFICIENCIES. TRY ANOTHER INSULT WORD. OR TRY NOT TO INSULT JUST WIN THE ARGUMENT. I MEAN, YOU MADE THE RIGHT POINTS BUT YOU SOILED THEM WITH YOUR R-WORD ADDITION.

I'll take WVU's grit performance against UConn, which even Huggins praised, any day. Never quit. Worked together. Relentless. Against a damn good team! UConn has a good shot at the Elite Eight. So does WVU! Maybe we'll meet them again in March Madness.

This team definitely has some issues but they seem to play hard. Tonight was not a quality win no matter how you spin it, a loss would have been catastrophic. A good team beats a full strength UConn team at home without dramatics. Squeaking by them at home when they’re down two of their best players is concerning. Still have time to fix things but conference play is looming, I don’t think we will play many more teams down two starters.

Doesn't Huggins do the same? We lose, he complains. We win, he complains.

We're losing, he rants and raves at officials during timeouts instead of talking to the players. We're up 20, he rants and raves at officials during timeouts instead of talking to the players.

He must just be a whiny *****. Good to know you think a HOF coach and greatest coach WVU will ever have is a *****. Some fan you are. Or maybe you're just a retard.

No, he didn't. He was too mad we missed FT's and won the game that he broke his TV and stomped back to his bitchy abode.
