I really enjoyed the second half of the game last night and for the first time all year I felt like I was watching Duke Basketball again. My expectations moving forward will stay very low. We looked like we could beat half the NBA teams when we beat Georgia Tech and then it looked like we could not beat a high school team following that game. Until we can consistently guard and play together my expectations will stay low.

I can understand not wanting to be letdown, but the players have high expectations, the coaches have high expectations, and most of us fans (me included) have high expectations. And it's not like the expectations aren't warranted. This isn't a group of slow, short, untalented hacks. So, while the expectations may not be met it doesn't mean we shouldn't aspire to them.

Consistency is a perfect word to describe what this team needs going forward. It was a feel good moment last night for sure watching that second half. But it won us a game it didn't win us a season. If we come out and lay an egg against nc st or wake it was all for nothing. We need to learn to play hard all of the time. It sounds easy but I'm not so sure it is. Our veterans need to continue to lead by example and bring these youths along. We couldn't even make it the final few minutes without letting our foot off the has slightly. We need to play with heart and pride every time we lace them up. The rest should all fall into place
The talk about taking the foot off the gas is just talk. They expended great effort in the comeback and then we had a big lead, so the coaches went to stall ball to close the game out. Capel has learned from the G.O.A.T. on how to preserve a win. I'll take it every time.
I just grab a beer and watch. I only let my expectations affect my experience if I'm actually playing. I can enjoy a loss. If I'm not having fun, I watch replays of 2015.
I think I will just grab a beer like another poster mentioned. Although some of those games would cause me to drink heavily and teaching the next day is always rough. Have a good rest of the weekend guys!
