I agree. If anybody in the east is gonna beat Tarboro, it'll have to be next year.
It's also asking a lot out of a freshman QB to go into these very tough environments in the playoffs and win. Not saying impossible, but it's very hard
I watched South play Starmount last year and the QB was pretty good. They said then that the team was young. They struggled against the size of Starmount in that game. I didn't realize CSD lost to North. The scores just don't make sense.
If Wilson is considered a western team the playoff system is broken. Which in my opinion the 1A playoffs are broken anyway.
#8 will be back at some point this season but not sure if he makes it back by Swain, his ankle sprain is worse than #5's was and #5 was out 3 weeks. I dont think they will beat Swain without #8 being 100% personally, #8 is their most explosive player.
Wilson is the western most East team unless they go west.
8 will be fine. Could have played last Friday had it been necessary. Don’t think it was as bad as 5’s sprain. He may have to play through some soreness but that shouldn’t slow him down much if at all.
Still doesn’t change the fact that it’s crazy that Wilson could be west. A lot people around here mention Wilson when debating the capital of eastern North Carolina
1A is working out to be what it was designed to be for this alignment. Some teams that were traditionally not very good has resurged this year and good for them. Robbinsville is favored based on the past and the NCHSAA rubrics. That does not mean the they will win it as there are some pretty good teams down East and maybe a sleeper or two in the West. All the gurus said it would be RVille-Wilson Prep. Wilson Prep record is the result of playing 3A-6A teams non conference and they will be tough to beat. As for the lowly West teams, maybe somebody will give Rville a non running clock game. Time will tell.
A few years ago. Hayesville went to Hobbton (80 miles from Wilmington) in the 1st round and the following year traveled to Princeton.

I am not a wilson prep fan. I also think their coach has said some very silly things that shouldn't have been said. Yet, I think it would be hilarious if the opposite happened.
Agreed. Im not a Wilson Prep fan but people will be making a mistake if they underestimate them. They have size and athletes. Their QB will be the best player on the field no matter who they the rest of the season.
Agreed. Everyone needs to be full go physically and have their minds right to get that win. Need to jump on them early and dictate how the game goes.
Got to have the #10 that showed up against Heard County and East Surry and not the one that was out there against AC Reynolds and Robbinsville. If this team is going to make it to a state title game Grant has to get back to playing how he was earlier this season.
I agree. Can’t have mistakes by your QB in big games. Hopefully we can run the ball down team’s throats and control “when” we pass the ball (that always helps a QB look good) but that may not always be the case. QB has got to be on his game and be able to win us a big game at some point too.
