So a women I coach with father passed away a few weeks ago. He was a General (I think) in the armed forces.
Last night she came in the office and said she wanted to show me something...her father had written a letter to Coach K after the 2008 Olympics. It stated how much he enjoyed watching the team and appreciated the work K was doing to represent the country. They both went to West Point so some stuff about that and etc.
What she had found while home taking care of things was a letter Coach K had written back. The letter thanked him for his service, watching the team, what an honor it was, and how proud he was of the guys on the team. It's on Duke Letterhead...signed..dated..the whole shebang.
She didn't know about this and thought it was so cool. She was proud of her Dad and super excited to see something from Coach K.
Just thought I would share..I found it very cool. Coach K impacted her significantly by taking the time to acknowledge and respond to her father.
