That was the year it became clear that it is impossible for a true defensive player to win the Heisman. If Suh couldn't win it that year, nobody could. Ever since then, I haven't cared much about the Heisman. That being said, I'll certainly care a lot more about it if(I think when) Adrian Martinez is up for it in the next few years.
Exactly they gave it to Ingram as a sort of team award when Suh killed McCoy in the Big XII title game. Most Outstanding player my ***. More like best QB/RB from a top 10 team.
Ingram wasn’t even that special. Very good yes but far from impressive. IMO he was a dime a dozen player who has been matched many times over again in college football by players who do not have Heisman Trophies. Suh on the other hand was a rare talent.
