A guy who flips houses for a living came upon a house in Philly, when inspecting it he noticed that there were a number of pics, military decorations and the like. When he got to the bedroom he noticed that there were awards listing Bill Guarnere's name.

He went through the real estate agent who had the listing and confirmed it was his house. So, he bought the house, the real estate agent waived her fees and now they are fixing up the house to become a home for wounded/disabled vet(s). They are doing some fundraising events in New Jersey to help raise funds to complete the job and the "flipper" who bought it is donating the house for the express purpose of offering it to a disabled vet at a very reduced rental rate.

Hero and warrior. Based on what I saw of his extensive participation and support of veterans event until he passed I think he's very proud to see his home being used to help other vets.

Is there any link to the house or a story?

Were there no family members who wanted the memorabilia? Kind of a shame that those items nearly ended up in a landfill.

Hoops,

They were showing the house, in almost every instance the real estate agent wants to leave things as are (perhaps lose a little "clutter") until it sells, rather than completely empty. He has family and I presume that they would have emptied the house and taken possession of his belongings when the time came.
