For those that cut the cord and went streaming, are you still liking it and are you still saving lot of money? Spectrum has got crazy with their pricing.
Never going back. Love it. Roku and YouTubeTV. Also NVidia Shield on my home theater.

I don’t have money to save, but sounds like something I would do if I did. To quote Festus “, If Id a’done what you wanted me to do, I wouldn’t have done what you thought i would do before i done went and done what i did, before you said i shouldn’t do what i already did, don’t you see, Matthew?

There is so much content online that it's crazy to pay so much. I still have Dish for my wife but I usually watch Hulu, Netflix and Pluto TV plus a few others. There is always something else to find and you won't miss it after awhile.

I’ve been thinking about getting passport. It’s the PBS streaming app. Only 60 bucks a year and you can claim it as a donation. Anybody have it?

Liked Youtube TV more when it was $50/month, they seemed to have added a lot of channels I don't watch so they can get an extra $20 out if me. It is the best streaming service I've tried and is easy to pause your subscription like I do in the summer months when I don't use it very often.

Been streaming for over 5 years. While I'd never consider going back, we do have fiber optic internet and cable that is included in our HOA, but we use that mostly for local channels. Still have a home in Tennessee too, so we stream everything there. After thinking about it, about the only people I know that aren't streaming are my in-laws, our daughter in-law's parents (same age as my in-laws) and a couple of my wife's aunts who are in their early 80s.

We do streaming only. We use YTTV. If it weren't for live sports, we wouldn't have the subscription.

As always...Plex (with NAS) is the answer for everything. If you find the right Plex share...you'll never miss any of your favorite shows and a lot of times the new movies are available there first.

I'm sticking to cable. When all these streaming services/internet add costs that get within $15/month I'll be the cable hipster who did cable before it was kewl.

I really wanted to cut the cord and have tried twice unsuccessfully. First was YouTube TV. The picture quality was awful and just couldn’t overlook it. Next was Hulu, and their platform was so counterintuitive, navigating around was beyond annoying, so they are out. Haven’t seen another good platform to try.

I don’t know the minimum speed for a good picture. I pay for Comcast blast that is 200mbs and speed test in my house at 240. Comcast has come down to $60/mo for that speed.

I never have any issues what so ever.

If I didn’t have access to those speeds, I would go with Musk’s Starlink satellite internet.

Starlink is at minimum 180 and getting faster all the time.

Use att fiber and speed isn’t an issue although I don’t know what it is exactly. All other streaming services stream HD with no trouble. YTTV is the only platform definition was a problem.

You don't really need anything but internet and with your cell phone service you probably get either free Hulu or Netflix. Buy the other for like $13 and with free content out there you have plenty of options. The only issue is with sports, but there are options out there for that.

It's hard to justify getting the streaming TV services anymore with their costs always going up and mostly due to channels you might not even watch. If someone would offer an ESPN option only for like $20 then most of those services would probably go out of business.

I pay about $20/month for all the TV, movies, ppv, that’s available, so it’s worth it for me. Most of what I watch is off a Kodi app, but also use CinemaHD, LiveNet and Locast.

I’m still with Spectrum but I’m really really close to going to a streaming service.
This is where we're at. Our Spectrum bill including home phone just went from $189 in May to $229 now. BS.

Looking at fiber op internet 500mbs, home phone, & YT for around $135.

We have Hulu in our house. Works great and has all the channels I could want. Been streaming for probably 3-4 years now and would never consider going back to cable.

Spectrum was running a deal where you got internet for $45/month and streaming through the Spectrum App for another $45/month. The package is about 150 channels including ESPN, ESPN2 and SEC network. It's a one year deal after which internet goes to the regular price of $80/month. I thought about giving it a try as it's cheaper than my internet plus YouTube TV.

I did the Spectrum App thing for about 2 months, it is horrible. Cost wise it was actually better because you get HBO Max and any of the other station hubs included. But their app is way behind the other streaming services. Very hard to customize and takes forever to get to a station. Plus if you use Roku they are in a pissing match and cant get their app via Roku right now.

Now that Hulu Live revamped their app I use it, honestly them and YTTV are very close in my opinion. I just like the extra on demand library that Hulu has.

If the Spectrum app is upgraded and they can work out the $ with Roku I would definitely consider going back to their streaming service.

Unless you don’t have internet when you have cable TV, that’s a fixed cost really shouldn’t be factored into the equation.

What all does their package include?
As far as sports channels, everything you'll need being a UK fan. All ESPN channels plus SEC network. You'll get all possible channels that NCAA tournament games are on. FS1 & 2 and NBCSN is included if you're a NASCAR fan. Plus most of your normal cable channels. I think we pay around 65 for it.

Love how people will gladly spend $$$ on eating out at expensive restaurants but if their tv bill goes up $10 they are ready to pull the plug.

Going to keep spectrum internet, but going with Direct for TV, get the same channels as I did with Spectrum but 70.00 less. Hulu is 70.00, direct tV is 89, for one year, after that it goes up, but still less than I pay now.

Still have Dish, all the movie channels, all the sports channels at real time not 45 seconds behind like one the streaming channels or at least that’s what the stream friends tell me 🍺

I called Dish and had to talk to 5 different people who all asked me the same dumb questions. All I was asking was how much my bill would be with all taxes and fees for a specific plan, 5 people and none would answer that simple question so I told them if I had to go thru all this for a simple question, then trying to get customer service would not be acceptable.

Agreed. We still have Spectrum...up to $270 a month. My work reimburses $50 for internet use which is helpful, but it has gone up $50 in the past 2 years gradually.

Honestly we watch way more streaming services than anything. But Spectrum includes HBO and Showtime so I'd be paying separate for those anyway, the way I look at it is a CODB.

I also haven't taken enough time to see what everything would be also carte. Can I watch the Reds? Do I have to pay for SEC and ESPN for the Cats...I am far to lazy and busy to deal with it.

I do know we pay far too much for entertainment...Netflix, Disney, Peacock, Hulu (just bought for American Horror Story), Paramount....all getting some business.

Trust me folks, I'm in the tech space...once 5G is full throttle someone is getting paid somehow. It is the biggest technological advance since the TV itself....the next way of life in America.

You can cut your cords but the internet prices aren't going anywhere but up if you want max speeds. They'll jack your internet cost up and your options will be wireless...Verizon, AT&T, etc...they won't be any cheaper. There will be some serious competition in high speed space but none will be cheap.

I’ve never had to call them I don’t think but it’s a good deal for us, $165 a month with everything 🍺
I actually watched Fordham@Penn once and it was the absolute worst football imaginable being broadcast 😰
