We pay about $65 a month for ours and I have not figured out everything we have yet. In fact, I think we have too much but my wife wants me to fiddle with it a while before she decides to cancel the ones I don't want. I can watch any game I wish simply by finding the sports channel for the area anywhere in the US. No way I go back to Dish or cable or anything like that.

Agreed. We still have Spectrum...up to $270 a month. My work reimburses $50 for internet use which is helpful, but it has gone up $50 in the past 2 years gradually.

Honestly we watch way more streaming services than anything. But Spectrum includes HBO and Showtime so I'd be paying separate for those anyway, the way I look at it is a CODB.

I also haven't taken enough time to see what everything would be also carte. Can I watch the Reds? Do I have to pay for SEC and ESPN for the Cats...I am far to lazy and busy to deal with it.

I do know we pay far too much for entertainment...Netflix, Disney, Peacock, Hulu (just bought for American Horror Story), Paramount....all getting some business.
I have had YouTube TV it's very good but it doesn't have the Bally channel for the Reds if that is a deal breaker for you. I really like YTTV, especially the unlimited DVR feature.

You could search for a sports team you like and it will record their games automatically and you don't have to worry if you set the DVR to record long enough. It records until the game is over and then some.

Don't know if there is a package for Bally sports channel. You can HBO and all the movie channels as well, but it is extra of course. My bill was $69 and change for YTTV plus internet of course added to that.

$270 for cable and internet is preposterous. I pay half that for Spectrum internet and ATT TV Now and I feel like I’m getting ripped off.

We have total overkill and I'm aware. The package we have with Spectrum is every movie channel and pretty much every channel you could imagine. We have 5 DVR boxes which we pay extra for, max speed internet and still have phone line. It was a deal when it was $180 a month for first year...then it was $220, then $250 and now $270. I've just been too lazy to go thru the whole song and dance.

Use att fiber and speed isn’t an issue although I don’t know what it is exactly. All other streaming services stream HD with no trouble. YTTV is the only platform definition was a problem.
When I tried the yttv free trial in 2019, I had issues with their guide (I couldn’t see more than 2 hours ahead)and the speed of switching channels(always a pause like your loading a new app). Picture quality was still fine, though.

I passed.

January 2020 rolls in and Comcast ups my non movie channel cable/internet from $195(ridiculous enough) to $240. I decided I would put up with the perceived crappy guide and clunky channel surfing for half the bill.

Later, I was at a friends that had a similar setup and he was wizzing through his guide. I now knew the problem was on my end.

After the cable entered my house it split. One to my cable modem and one way to all of the TVs in the house. On the tv side there was a signal amplifier installed. It was interfering with my internet. The problem was only noticeable with the yttv app. Netflix and Amazon Prime never had issues.

I wouldn’t have diagnosed that without the internet tech coming out to the house.

Since there isn’t a cable tv in the house any longer, the incoming line goes straight to the modem.

I realize that you mentioned you had fiber, just throwing it out there.

Love how people will gladly spend $$$ on eating out at expensive restaurants but if their tv bill goes up $10 they are ready to pull the plug.
There are these things people have to pay on a reoccurring schedule called bills. When you plan each month for your bills to be a certain amount it's called a budget. After figuring out how much of your money is leftover after budgeting you have what's called spending money. You then use your spending money (fun money) for things like eating at restaurants and entertainment. When your bills go up it affects your fun options so people then either find savings in their bills or they have to do without. Life gets pretty boring if you're bills keep you from having fun.

Same boat as we still have a land line, mostly because it is attached to security system. May could change it to cell phone, haven’t looked into it. Spectrum has just gone crazy with the pricing.

Didn’t think all the big ballers on here had to budget. I guess SSI only goes so far

We have ATT Fiber - with downloads over 900Mbps for $60 not sure why the one poster thinks prices are going up? I can remember paying more for that for dial up 28.8k lol.

Then we have YouTube TV as main source, but add on some accounts that have come free with phones and other places such as Netflix, HBOMax, Disney+ and AppleTV. So for under $135 month we have more content then we need plus fastest internet we ever could use.

My ADT system installed last year isn't on a landline. Think they used a cell signal but you'd probably have to update your panel

Same here. Basically if you cut the landline just take that and add the savings to your security system if you go mobile.

It is more convenient being able to access remotely though.

Have Specturm cable and Internet (400 mega speed). Bill is around $160 a month. Stream several tv's using their app which is not great but not terrible (better than paying additional box costs). Biggest question I have going to full stream is DVR. We use it a lot. What is the best way to go about DVR when using Hulu and other streaming services?

Yttv is unlimited. You are done with deleting a program to make more room because you ran out of space for a new program.

You can now record entire series without worrying about capacity.

Programs are deleted after 9 months. But, every time it airs on any channel, it creates another copy. The clock starts fresh on each copy. It tops out at five copies.

Sports are recorded until completion.

Once a program ages out and is deleted, I’ve noticed it reappearing six month later at a new airing.

If you didn't cut cable already, you're likely not going to. Just stick with what you have, and figure that extra $50 a month is a service fee so you don't have to think about it. Cutting cable isn't as cheap as it used to be, and it's almost becoming a wash, depending on what services you add on.

I mean that as honestly as possible. If you haven't cut cable in 2021, it's probably not meant for you.

Would love to cut the cord but is it possible to get NFL ticket without it?

That and UK games are what is stopping me at the moment.

UK games will almost always be on. All these streaming services almost always have the SEC network.. and then ESPN and CBS will cover the rest.

NFL ticket is a little more difficult. I get to watch my team locally almost all year.. but out of market makes it tough. I know Direct TV has a good package.

Love YouTube TVA, function and features. My favorite feature is the one that says "would you like all college football games recorded? Yes/No"

One thing to consider before you make the switch is make sure you have adequate download speed. We run as many as 5 devices at a time with AT&T fiber optic connection which delivers around 500 mbps download speeds. Never have any issues with picture freezes etc.

There are two ways to get all NFL games without Sunday Ticket. I use NFL Game Pass. It records all NFL games however you can't watch them live, only in replay mode, but that's ok with me because I like to forward through commercials anyway. The service is $99 per season, through YouTube TV.

The other way to get them is with an Amazon Fire Stick. There are youtube videos out there that explains how it's done but I'm pretty sure it's live only.

Same here. the very month-over two years ago-i signed on with yttv it went from $40 to $50, and is now $70. $80 for spectrum internet. i’m still paying about $125 less/month than when i had spectrum cable. really like the yttv dvr.
I used to watch the reds now and then until they cut the bally channel but i don’t really miss them since i hardly watch sports anymore. if not for my wife i’d get rid of the yttv and go with a good antenna for free tv.

Going to keep spectrum internet, but going with Direct for TV, get the same channels as I did with Spectrum but 70.00 less. Hulu is 70.00, direct tV is 89, for one year, after that it goes up, but still less than I pay now.
Yeah, but when your contract runs, they bump your price up dramatically. So, pay attention and then be prepared to cut and run. Let them know and play hardball. They will give you a deal to keep you.

Since everything is streaming, there isn’t really “cord cutting” anymore. Hulu (Disney) and YTTV is screwing and price gouging now like the cable companies used to. I cancelled Hulu about a year ago after their last price increase, it was ridiculous.

Spectrum internet because I have to. Hulu for live tv. I piggyback netflix and get hbo max with my att plan. Still about $50 cheaper had I stayed with cable. That gap has narrowed though since I made the switch about 3 years ago.

Yeap got the email about an hour ago. Going to see what kind of deals they are throwing out now. With HBO Max included price wise it’s not much different than Hulu Or YTTV + HBO Max.

I only used for 1 month. Them & HBO Max couldn’t get my login straight. Spent 6 hrs on phone with both over 2 weeks. So canceled and went back to stand alone services & Hulu live.

Their app is still not up to par with others as well.

Sooooo, if we cut the cord but kept Spectrum as the interet provider could we use another person's Spectrum login for apps without them (Spectrum) catching on?

I think Hulu just raised their price again. I have hbo, showtime off my parents directv login. But hulu raising their monthly rate bc they want to add gardening channel, etc is getting old.
At least with streaming you can cancel whenever you want and just join a competitor. But yeah all of them kind of doing the same thing anymore. Streaming just becoming the new cable but without having to have contracts and their company specific hardware.

I guess before long we'll all be back on cable as everyone wants to take rights and stream their content...its too much to keep up with now. Lol

Cable, internet, etc....it is what it is. If I can afford it then so be it. I will then go complain about CFA raising their prices 3%.

Are there any streaming platforms that have regional sports networks? In particular Bally Sports?
