Yeah, they beat an overrated Iowa this past weekend.

But they are still an FCS team.

If UK played North Dakota State, I'd take the Cats by 2 TDs.

They are another one of those OOC level games that you would hate to have to play. Playing very well this season.

We cant stop the run. Iowa is a much better defense than us and gave up 200+ rushing yards. ND state is a team that is accustomed to winning, championships at that. We would lose by 10-14 IMO

Iowa is my 2nd fav school and my Hawkeyes still should have won. They tried to be too balanced and NDSU was putting 8+ in the box every down and daring Iowa to throw. Ferenz is a great coach but he's to blame for the lose, they tried to run over them instead of taking what the defense was giving them. Senior QB took them to the playoffs also should have audibled out or the run more often. Just too many 3 and outs kept giving the ball back to ND state with short fields and defense got tired in the second half...sound familiar.

No NDSU is better than us, if only that their players expect to win every time they play, ours hopes to have a chance to win. That mindset alone gives them the edge.

Half the FCS 1-AA top 25 would beat UK....some of the teams would win by double digits (NDSU, Jacksonville St, Montana, Eastern Washington). A good triple option team like The Citadel might very well shred our D (beat USCJr last year). These schools have good talent but only 63 schollys....as such their coaches are really good at talent eval and development. They're typically very well conditioned because they have to be.

NDSU could possibly beat half the FBS top 25....several of the SEC teams the way the conference is playing this year......and would likely blow us out.

lol is this serious?? ND state would win by at least 2 TD against our current roster. Iowa won 11 games last year. We have barely won 11 in 4 years. Any FCS team that can win 5 straight NC aren't scrubs at all. I'd bet new mexico state community college wouldn't score 42 on them

No we can not beat them. At least I wouldn't bet on it. Even John Short would pick NDSU by 15 biguns

I assume that Rob is trolling again. Anyway, NDSU would beat this team halfway to death. They would beat any of the four bad SEC East teams, and, although, they would be toast against a full SEC schedule, they would be a serious threat to beat any of the three good SEC East teams in a single game, early in the season. If Appalachian State and Nichols State can almost do it, NDSU could actually do it.

NDSU would beat us pretty bad. Like Stoops or not. We would NOT win thay game. Overrated or not Iowa is way better than us. What kind of question is this.

There's a good reason that this team is hovering around the top 25. They're about where Boise St. was around 10 years ago. Though, I don't know if they will make the jump to FBS with such a small school.

We would lose badly. North Dakota State has always been known for having a solid defense and winning by playing fundamental football. They remind me of watching Tom Osborne's teams during his tenure at Nebraska. No frills or really big names, just hard nosed football the way it should be played. Our defense is deplorable by any measure and there's no way we could stop their run.

Horseshit.

Are you aware that NDSU is 6-0 against FBS teams since the college football went to the FBS/FCS designation? Repeat: 6-0. Undefeated. They have been staggeringly impressive against the big boys over the years. The real mystery is why FBS teams continue to schedule them when history says you're gonna get embarrassed if you play the Bison.

So, to answer your question: Hell, NO, I don't think we'd beat them. They'd beat us just as they beat every FBS team they face.

I don't think our team could beat them this year. They have a fabulous program, with incredible fan support and enthusiasm. They are a program to emulate, imho.

We couldn't beat Iowa, much less NDSU. NDSU would win by 2 TDs and obliterate our defense.

They have a coach we should
Look at.

Oh, and if we played them last year, with Carson Wentz, we'd lose by 40.

Haven't we already played them once, didn't we beat them by like 73-0?

Why risk a perfect record?

We beat North Dakota 83-0 in 1950, under the Bears' leadership. Not the same school I believe !
Right, it's not the same school. UK and ND State have never met in football. I have a friend that played baseball for ND State back in the '80's and he said at the time the football stadium was nothing more than a glorified high school field. They finally started becoming en elite program in their division after getting backing from boosters who got rich in the oil fields up there. After building their new indoor stadium they started getting some players that normally would have gone to Nebraska. As their stadium only seats about 20K I doubt that you'll see them make the jump to the upper division of college football.

We should hire their coach, seems like every year they beat a P5 school.

Wrong, they are an excellent running team. They would hold the ball at least 40 minutes on us. It would take some lucky breaks to beat a team with that type of possession advantage. We cannot stop the run. It's going to be much more apparent this week.

Offensively, they strongly resemble some of the old Nebraska teams. Defensively, there are no holes.
