Scheduled for my first of 2 COVID-19 shot tomorrow. I am praying it gives me no side effects. This was a big decision, afraid to take it and afraid not to. LOL, I been hearing only positive reports on the shot.
Let me hear from anyone if you've had the shot.

I had the first dose and due to get the second in February. My wife, brother, his wife, her brother and his wife all got it at the same time. No problems for any of us except a little arm soreness for a couple days. I know at least fifty people who have taken the vaccine with zero issues.

I am feeling much better about getting it now with about 7 on Facebook said they also got it with no side effects. Happy it went well for You and your Wife . :)
I think the more people that get the shot the faster it will get it behind us. I will post in a day or so how mine went.

They say about 80% need to take it to get this behind us. This vaccine isnt allowed for children so that means we cant reach 80% even if every adult takes it.

They are going to start testing kids soon. They did not say what age group but I heard it on the news yesterday.

They already test children for COVID when appropriate. The Pfizer vaccine is recommended for 16 and older while the Moderna version is 18 and older.

I meant to say they were going to start testing kids with a vaccine and I think they may have meant younger kids because they were getting COVID and it was causing some kind of problem with some kids.

I hear what you’re saying and don’t disagree at all with this article.
My point is that “herd immunity” is a nebulous and poorly defined concept. I’ve listened to epidemiologists talk about herd immunity and include unvaccinated people who have had COVID. Some talk about fifty percent or seventy percent or eighty percent. The truth is that nobody even knows if herd immunity is achievable under any circumstances. And nobody knows what it would take to achieve it.
How long does antibody immunity last?
If you have it this year, or are vaccinated this year, will you be safe next year?
There is so much still unknown. I was just saying that, when I’ve heard medical experts talk about herd immunity at eighty percent, most have specified that they were referring to adults, precisely because children can’t yet be vaccinated.

I get my second shot tomorrow. I felt a little crummy the day after my first shot and my arm was unusually sore, but I've been doing alright since then. The second shot will make you feel a little worse, from what I understand, but a day of feeling bad is a small price to pay.

Wife and I got our first 26 Jan. Second one is scheduled 23 of Feb. Sore arm, more like a muscle strain for 1 day, no pain at all. Brother gets his today at the VA in Columbia MO. Lot of family have had Covid with only 1 Hospital stay for a few days. Only 1 death in the local area that I knew but he was upper 80s with lots of other health problems. No side effects serious I have heard of with 1st or 2nd shot. I got the Moderna Flavor first shot and will get the same second one. My brother will get the Phizer one.

So my second shot made me have a pretty strong immune reaction. The morning after I woke up at 3:30 shaking uncontrollably and then started to feel like I had the flu for 6 hours, but was feeling good enough to move my all the stuff from my old basement to my new house the rest of the day. I'm thankful for the shot, thankful that it seems like my immune system responded and I would do it again if I had to in a heartbeat.

From what I've read older people tend to have LESS reaction to the shots. Seems to be due to a reduced immune system as we get older.

I have seen several people in the last few days post videos of them shaking severely and it does not go away but they don't say which shot or type shot. Worries me about getting the 2nd shot. So much crap being said it makes me afraid to get the 2nd shot but again with the virus getting so much worse I am afraid not to. Who all has had both shots. I just watched a video that said it had some kind of Nanos in it that causes problems in some people by ramping up your immune system so much that it attacks body parts that weak from problems like diabetes or heart problems. Who has had both Moderna shots?

Get the shot. It’s better than getting covid. You can’t believe anything on social media. I work with elderly everyday no lasting side effects that I can see. 100s have taken it not a one has regretted it.
I just worry every day about covid and have worn a mask since last February or March. I bought 10 homemade masks, 5 for me and 5 for my son. I have not since left home without mine and kept my distance. I am so sick of living a life of being afraid to leave home. I have lived a good life and getting to the point that I don't really care. This is no kinda life to live, not ............. Nevermind. I should not be posting my worries on here. Prayers for all to be safe and covid free, and prayers for our football teams to be safe ! !

You’re going to watch a lot more football buddy
Thanks for your respect. 😡😷😷
I can only Pray that you are right, but well I can only leave it at a ????
It is hard enough growing old but not feeling your age in your mind and young at heart, then covid comes along and puts you in your place. Again Prayer for us all and while you can, give your soul to GOD and tell the devil it is not his, the Father, Son & Holy Ghost has it.....

Here in Missouri they are kicking off the shots for the general public. At least in my area (Springfield). Cases are down over the last couple days, but that changes all the time. Hopefully by summer/fall it will be a lot better. Meanwhile I start to get ready for opening Trout day ( 1 march). Have reserved RV spot at my favorite place on the river, 27 Feb - 2 March. Big trip comming in April, 2 weeks as the Crappie are spawning. Time to refill the freezer, We've et-em all up from last year.

Hugh Chatham is administering in Elkin too TD. The leadership in Surry has done a horrible job promoting vaccinations though.

I called on a Friday and got my shot the following Tuesday 1/27/21 and due for 2nd shot on 2/24/21 @ 12:30 PM again. I thought it went faster than I expected. My appointment was for 12:30 PM and I got in line at 12:15 in my car with 2 lines going around a circle. I got my shot at 12:30 give or take 5 minutes. Then I had to pull into a parking place for 15 minutes in case of side effects and left in 15 minutes. All went smooth and faster than expected. They were there all day with 2 lines and I was number 545. So I would say over 1000 got shots that day alone.

Got my 2nd COVID shot a few hours ago. After she put the bandage on she said some people were having mild flu-like symptoms from 12 to 16 hours of getting the 2nd shot but nothing to worry about. I don't really think I will or hope not because I have a dental appointment tomorrow. I have seen way more people saying the 2nd shot doesn't bother them than saying they were sick a couple of days. I have a pretty strong immune system and have not even had a cold in 4 or 5 years and the last was over in probably a week. I am going to be ok . Life goes on. 😷

Got my 2nd last Thursday around 3. Was good until Friday morning. Chills and aches all Friday. Good to go Saturday.
Was your shot the Moderna 2 shot or the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine ?
I had the 2 Moderna shots.
