I remember back in media days Coach Stoops commented the team was nowhere near the vax level the SEC was hoping for. Anyone seen any updates on that?
Not a pro or con vaccine/mask/distancing thing....just curious about the team and staff.

Last I heard he said they were a little short but was confident they'd get there before the season. I figure they are just giving the players time and any info/questions answered. They'll get a little more insistent closer the season gets I bet.

If a child in a car seat can still be injured or killed in a crash, what’s the point of requiring car seats?

If a child is required to wear seat belts but not in school busses what's the point

Covid 19 survival rates

0-20 years old. 99.997%
20-49years old. 99.98%
50-69 years old. 99.95%
70+ years old. 94.6%

Not to mention when you do get it your immune system will defeat it and you will develop antibodies for a natural immunity.

Your going to be taking vaccines for the rest of your short life every few months and be super spreaders giving it to everyone else.

Im def not taking this mark of the beast nor should any Christian on the team or anywhere else

What does the vax have to do with religion?

Get the shot, wear a mask. Do you part.

Why shouldn’t a Christian take a shot?

The vaccines are working, saving lives and saving hospitalizations. Many folks believed outlandish religious stuff during the Bubonic Plague too. Science is real and it works.

Legit question: how many not taking the vax just are still scared of needles from when you were a kid? Like honestly if it was a nasal spray would it be less intimidating

The world would be a better place if everyone quit worrying about what others are doing and just do what’s best for themselves. Mask/ no mask, vax/no vax, it’s an individual choice. In today’s world no one respects others opinions and always try to force their beliefs down others throats based on their education, religion, race, whatever it may be. This is the main reason I live on a small farm in a remote area, just tired of how rapidly society has taken a nosedive as far as showing respect for others.

I hate the world. I truly hope that a meteor 5 times bigger than Jupiter smashes into the equator sometime within the next 10 minutes. You people are just too much to deal with and there are too many of you.

if something that big was head towards Earth we'd be dead long before it collides with Earth

DISCLAIMER: I'm not anti-vaccine!!

With that said:

#1 Not a very good comparison...at all. Required vaccinations are usually due to having a vaccine that stops the illness. When that's not the case they are usually elective...flu vaccine.

#2 There are issues in REAL SCIENCE no matter how much is said to the contrary that might give someone at least the pause & right to think & choose for themselves. A recent peer-reviewed study published August 9 in the Journal of Infection:
LINK:

Highlights

  • Infection-enhancing antibodies have been detected in symptomatic Covid-19.

  • Antibody dependent enhancement (ADE) is a potential concern for vaccines.

  • Enhancing antibodies recognize both the Wuhan strain and delta variants.

  • ADE of delta variants is a potential risk for current vaccines.

  • Vaccine formulations lacking ADE epitope are suggested.

Conclusion...new vaccine development is needed ASAP.

Like the poster said you responded to, if vaccinated people get & transmit COVID...its not in the public interest that one is vaccinated. However, it's CERTAINLY in the personal interest one get vaccinated.

Welp.

My wife and I were exposed at a small cookout Saturday (7 adults, 4 kids) to someone who tested positive for Covid on Monday (friend’s kid). I’m fully vaccinated.

I feel really tired and and have had some muscle aches and chills at night since Sunday night. Currently sitting at a clinic waiting to get tested for work/time off purposes. Wait time is 5 hours.

All adults at the cookout were fully vaccinated except one woman who is a “FaItH oVeR fEaR” person who doesn’t believe in masks or vaccines, Covid’s a hoax, stolen election, etc.

All the vaccinated adults who were at this cookout feel like me - somewhat ****** but nothing serious. One breakthrough positive test and 4 negatives so far including my wife (I hope I make it 5). Apparently the unvaccinated person was admitted to the hospital this morning with a positive test and severe symptoms including shortness of breath and loss of taste (no loss of smell).

I’m pretty sure I made the right decision to get my shots. I also understand vaccines are to curtail symptoms in the event of exposure, not a magic forcefield that prevents me from contracting the disease.

Will update once I get my results.

UPDATE: I tested negative after waiting 4.5 hours in my car. Of the 7 adults exposed at our gathering: 5 vaccinated people tested negative + 1 vaccinated person has a breakthrough positive with mild symptoms. One unvaccinated person hospitalized. Three of the four kids present tested positive with mild symptoms. The other kid likely won’t be tested because… her mom is in the hospital and doesn’t believe in testing children. No word in if the mom’s doctors will test the child anyway.

This is batshit, sir.

Please enlighten me about this so-called mark of the beast. Since I have taken it, will I develop satanic powers? I’ve always wanted to be a heavy metal guitarist. Maybe being infected with satan juice will help me effortlessly learn to shred.

Well brother, as one Christian to another, I simply don't understand your statement. There is no Biblical support for this vaccine being the mark of the beast. This reminds me of an old joke and, no, I'm not making fun of you with this. I just think it fits.

A storm descends on a small town, and the downpour soon turns into a flood. As the waters rise, the local preacher kneels in prayer on the church porch, surrounded by water. By and by, one of the townsfolk comes up the street in a canoe.

"Better get in, Preacher. The waters are rising fast."

"No," says the preacher. "I have faith in the Lord. He will save me."

Still the waters rise. Now the preacher is up on the balcony, wringing his hands in supplication, when another guy zips up in a motorboat.

"Come on, Preacher. We need to get you out of here. The levee's gonna break any minute."

Once again, the preacher is unmoved. "I shall remain. The Lord will see me through."

After a while the levee breaks, and the flood rushes over the church until only the steeple remains above water. The preacher is up there, clinging to the cross, when a helicopter descends out of the clouds, and a state trooper calls down to him through a megaphone.

"Grab the ladder, Preacher. This is your last chance."

Once again, the preacher insists the Lord will deliver him.

And, predictably, he drowns.

A pious man, the preacher goes to heaven. After a while he gets an interview with God, and he asks the Almighty, "Lord, I had unwavering faith in you. Why didn't you deliver me from that flood?"

God shakes his head. "What did you want from me? I sent you two boats and a helicopter."

Please don't mock religious views. Either one believes in the Bible or they don't, but like many things in the Bible, this passage is open to some interpretation. That said, I do not believe this is the mark of the beast. So, don't worry, you won't grow horns.

I rolled around the floorboard as a kid and turned out just fine. Drank vitamin d in the bottle as well as wore cloth diapers.

I literally fell out of our beat up station wagon while my mom was driving when I was a kid. I remember sitting in the middle of the street watching her drive away lol. I don't think she realized it because my brother and sister were fighting. I think I was lik 5 or 6.

LOL!!! I have a similar story but never fell out. We had an old white Oldsmobile wagon one time. We were on our way to the KMart off Outer Loop in Louisville and Mom was side swiped. The door flew open and I was hanging on to the door handle. No seatbelt. Who the hell wore them then? Wow man. Your story brought back a memory. Thanks for that!

Don't think it weird I told you that as it's 100% true. I can't wait to tell Mom I wasn't the only one, lol! Pretty sure it was a '68 Olds with red vinyl interior.
