How did your covid shot go? I had the Johnson & Johnson shot, so I only have to have one shot. I didn't sleep great after the shot and was really tired the next day. I had some cold like symptoms 2 days later. I had no pain. The most painful shot I've ever had other than the smallpox shot, which branded some us for life in the sixties and early seventies, was shingrix.

Pfizer 3 weeks ago. Only had a sore arm.

2nd shot yesterday. Didn't sleep well. Sinus' filled with real watery mucous. Teeth and maxilla hurt. Very tired and worn out but feeling better as it gets into night. Should be good with some sleep.

Good luck as this virus mutates. How can you think that humans can’t cure the common cold or predict which strain of flu to inoculate for can suddenly eradicate a man made bio weapon?
Well thats your problem...the virus isn't going to be eradicated and it's elementary to think it is. All that matters is it keeps hospitalization down. Which Is the same reason people get a flu shot to protect against enough strain.

Some ppl will get sick and some ppl will still die...but we are at an acceptable risk level jist the same as the other viruses we completely don't even think about....like the flu

Lol, you thought this and flu shots were cures? Lol. You know the Spanish flu from the 1918 pandemic just didn't vanish, it mutated too...and lost virulence over time becoming regular flu you know bc of that whole herd immunity thing we are all working on getting a vaccine

Plus the man made lab virus...while possibly true, I'm unsure what your point is...the moderna and Pfizer vaccines are man made lab vaccines. Unless you have some scientific rule of law no one knows about that says lab virus always overpowers lab vaccine

Pfizer 1 and 2 wasn’t too bad.

No problem with Moderna 1 but Moderna 2 made me feel tired and had a low grade fever for 24 hours or so.

Looking forward to trying the J&J vaccine.

I haven't yet since I'm in my 30's and others should have priority over me right now, but it's a relief to know so many have decided to take the vaccine. The target date I've had in my mind since the beginning to get back to complete normalcy has been Sept 2021. If things keep improving, maybe life will be back by August.

This is what I and I think everyone else wants. Normalcy.

I took a family member to their Group 1 appointment last week. Lady asked me if I wanted a shot also because they had extra for some reason. Maybe people didn't come out like they expected in the rural community or whatever. I told her I didn't want to overstep someone older, but the serum was thawed and they was needing to get it into an arm.

Anyways Moderna dose 1:

Very sore arm for 3 days. Had mild flu-like symptoms of fatigue and body aches. No fever. Treat it like your sick, hydrate, chicken noodle soup, 7-UP and Tylenol.

Oddly the older family member was rather fine, maybe I'm a puss.

I had the Moderna.
-1st shot - about 20' of pain in upper trap......mild sore arm for 2 days.
-2nd shot - about 5' of pain in upper trap......little sore arm, if any......fell asleep on the couch about 24 hrs later and didn't wake till morning.

+1 on Shingrix being the worst vaccine experience.

I got a little sleepy after Pfizer shot #2, but I’m sleepy a lot anyway. I did wake up in the middle of the night and found myself purchasing Microsoft products, but it was Microsoft Works, so I probably got an expired dose.

Anytime you wake up in the middle of the night you can either listen to Coast to Coast or watch Tony Robbins infomercials. I'm taking giant steps in finding UFO's.

I’m thinking by sometime in July most states will be back to normal as normal can get or pretty close to it. Only ones that likely won’t are the ones really slow to vaccinate and/or are still having major #s of cases/hospitalizations.

Only reason I say as normal as normal can get is because for the average person things will largely be the same as before, but I think there are going to be some significant behind the scenes changes that occurred because of COVID that will stick like a lot of jobs that went WFH are going to stay WFH, for example.

Also it’s going to take a while for job #s to recover no matter what economic policies are in place. Gas prices continuing to rise due to a multitude of factors isn’t helping things either.

CNN and J&J CEO trump a County Health Dept, one infectious disease Dr, and NBC Medical Correspondent.

Then, of course, there's all the data coming out the that the RNA vaccines are doing fantastic against variants.

At the end of the day, you should get something......anyone will do. So, my original comment was solely to state that you "might" have to get a 2nd booster injection.

Found out my company is opening vaccines up to everyone now after having gotten all the higher priority people done like providers, nurses, students doing their clinical or residency, and anyone else who can’t social distance.

Going to get my name on the list, trying to get it scheduled for a Friday so I can have the weekend to recover if it ***** me up. I normally have a minor reaction to shots like a sore arm for a few days so I figure I’ll have a worse reaction to this. Rather not potentially have to burn a day of PTO just from recovering from this. What seems to be majority of the most common side effects would make me fail the COVID screening and I’d have to be sent home from work.

JNJ shot earlier this week in the morning. By that night I had a 102 fever but didn't feel very bad. Woke up at 2am with a splitting headache and fever... Went back to bed, didn't sleep great. Woke up at 10am and got permission from my md to take advil and tylenol. Took them at 10am and felt much better by 11. Went to work at 1:00 and felt fine the next day.

i was relieved that I had some side effects. Told me it was working.

You don't know how scientific studies work. You can't compare the vaccines because the environments and circumstances in which they were studied were entirely different.

A. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines had the majority of their trials during MUCH lower case # periods of time. JNJ during the peak of the surge.
B. JNJ had their vaccine in parts of the world where more contagious variants were circulating. The did significant studies in brazil and south africa. Moderna and Pfizer were not studied in South Africa or Brazil.

Basically, you're comparing the three point shooting of a college player to a nba player. They're shooting from different lines in different arenas against different defenses.

Could Pfizer and moderna be more effective? Sure. Are they, probably.

But is it as significant as you imply. Absolutely not.

JNJ was 100% effective against hospitalization and death. That included the new variants.

You do realize that I am an advanced practitioner of medicine....right?

Once again, I never once said that anyone should avoid J&J.........nor did I recommend anyone get one manufacturer vs another. The only thing I said was in response to the OP saying that the J&J is a one shot vaccine. As of right now it is a single shot.......but because they aren't as effective as the other ones they are looking into providing a secondary booster.

Moderna 1 & 2. 1: Didn't feel needle. Squeezed my arm around shot location next two days & think I may have had a slight pain but it could have been just me squeezing. 2: Felt needle. Arm like a slight bruise for next two days. I wonder if it wasn't due to the needle injection vs. what was in it.

For those that have had chickenpox, Shingrix is a hell of a lot worse. Yet people who have had shingles say the vaccine is the lesser evil by far.

First dose of Pfizer last Thursday. Just light headed initially.

12 hours later, all the signs of dehydration. Pretty miserable for the next 24 hours.

Wife had no symptoms.

Will Buckethead need to get the second j&j too?
