Just when I thought the 2019 CPL games were becoming clear week 3 threw me for another loop. Results have not been as clear cut as last year which is a good thing for all and makes CPL Pick’Em even more crazy! With just 2 CPL teams playing non con games we are going to start getting some more of the rivalry games that comes with the conference schedule.
Noble Comer vs Dyett
This is a big one. Comer such a Noble school, and quietly one of the top Nobles. Dyett is much improved and lost by forfeit last week in a game I fully believed they would have won if not for the issues that led to forfeit. I have these two teams as top 2 in their conference. Can Comer keep winning? Will Dyett show up and make sure one loss doesn’t lead to 2? These are the questions I have.
I’m taking the team that sounds like Conant, so give me Comer by 7.
Pritzker vs Senn
Pritzker is riding high after a week 3 W. The Dawgz are trying to rebound from a loss last week. As former Coastal Carolina coach David Bennett once said we don’t need a bunch of cats, we need more dawgz(if you don’t know what I’m talking about, make sure you look it up).

After disappointing me early the Fenger Fingers have rebounded with some Wins, I am back on the finger train, CHOO CHOO

Noble Bulls vs ITW Speer
Great rivalry game against two of the tops in this conference. Really nothing more needs to be said than these 2 teams don’t like each other. Ultimately this comes down to toughness. Speers are mainly used for distance attacks, but I feel like you can’t throw a Speer that long so it’s not a great distance attack. A Bull needs to get in close to get you but damn is that Bull tough. Plus anyone who does the Running with the Bulls is clearly tough and probably a lot crazy. Crazy and tough decides this one!

Von Steuben vs Collins
With the Collins quadruplets at Lake View they lose points. Von Steuben was once led by Alan F. Rood the greatest yeller the CPL has ever seen(that mantle is now held by some crazy blond hair guy, super old but nowhere near as good of a yeller). While Alan F. Rood has since left us Von doesn’t quite that the same strength. But deep inside the heart of all those Von Panthers is the spirit of Rood!

Mather is coming off of a win last week that made the papers. Led by 2 dynamic RBs I look for Mather to get ahead early and pound the rock!

Lane vs Westinghouse
When Lane and Westinghouse get together they tell you to throw out the records! This is going to be a dog fight! Both teams wear green. Both teams wear yellow. I can only hope for a color rush game(seriously why do we not do more of these in high school football? Why did the NFL get away from these on Thursday nights? Made the games so much better!).

Payton vs Clark
Payton has won conference a lot lately. But has Michelle finally grown up and is ready for the challenge? Last time I checked it looked like this game was going to get some coverage and would be seen on High School Lites, if this is true I sure hope they can interview Percy, in these dark days the city of Chicago could really use a beacon of light like my man Percy!!
