11 correct picks out of 12 games last week though most margins of victory were much greater than projected. With that being said let’s get to our week 7 projections!!

Bogan vs Little Village
Little Village is one of my favorite high school names in the city and are a quality team CPL teams that tends to be well organized. Bogan has had some success early. I see this as a close game but one of my favorite former CPL coaches was a bogan graduate so that gives them the edge in my book.
Bogan 24 Little Village 18

Prosser vs Corliss
I don’t see this one being very close but Bland is a stud and I will continue to beat the drum for the young man!
Prosser 48 Corliss 6

Fenger vs Kennedy
Fenger coming off a big win and Kennedy coming off a tough loss. I like Fenger in this one and as one of the predictors said Fenger sounds like fingers and is fun to say.
Fenger 35 Kennedy 12

King vs Lake View
King is a quality CPL program and lake view has been struggling. However I saw Lake View week 1 and was impressed. While I did not get a roster for Lake View it appears they had 3 brothers on the team by the last name of Collins that were very talented. I’ll go with the Collins brothers and lake view
Lake View 18 King 6

Dunbar vs Collins
Dunbar is back and there ain’t no stopping them now!
Dunbar 36 Collins 24

Von Steuben vs Foreman
While i expect Von to win this one easily I wanted to give them some love. Von lost highly respected coach Alan Rood this year and many expected a fall off, however it seems that the energy and passion of Rood is still there as once you have been touched but Rood your life is changed forever.
Von 35 Foreman 0

Morgan Park vs Raby
Raby appears to be a little down after last years deep playoff run and Morgan Park is on the come up with alumnus Chris James at the helm. However Morgan Park isn’t there yet.
Raby 18 Morgan Park 8

Phoenix vs Marine
The Phoenix is rising. I’ll keep telling you until you all listen!
Phoenix 28 Marine 6

Washington vs Senn
Both lost last week but I only picked one of them to win. Well I’m doubling down and going with the Dawgz!
Senn 14 Washington 0

Clark vs Kenwood
Kenwood is looking like the top dog in this conference and Clark is still trying to follow the light and get over the hump.
Kenwood 56 Clark 0

Noble Bulls vs Noble Comer
Comer might sound like Conant and comb over but they play some solid football. However the Bulls are the class of the Nobles!
Bulls 35 Comer 18

CPL GAME OF THE WEEK
Catalyst Maria vs Kelly
Two teams that have done fairly well early in the season. I like both and expect this to be a hotly contested and competitive game. In the end the aerial attack of Maria will be to much for the 3 yards and a cloud of dust attack of Kelly.
Maria 42 Kelly 34

After a rough week, I think I need to do less research...Here goes:

Little Village
over Bogan - I heard it takes a village. The village takes it this week.

Prosser over Corliss - No where else in Illinois will you find two teams with ss in their names playing each other this weekend. Take the one that starts with P.

Fenger over Kennedy - Fenger is not only fun to say, they have a wrestling coach that wears a sweet varsity jacket. Go with the style points in this one.

Lake View over King - It will be close, but the kicking game wins it for the fighting Collins'

Dunbar over Collins - Mighty Men are Mighty Tough this week.

Von Steuben over Foreman - Von Steuben was George Washington's chief of staff. Picking against Von is like picking against America...and I ain't no Canadian.

Raby over Morgan Park - Raby is an easy one.

Phoenix over Marine - CPS has an inordinate amount of military academy high schools. None of them are good at football. Go with the Phoenix.

Senn over Washington - Washington is so bad that Senn can show up an hour late, roll off the bus and win by 40.

Kenwood over Michelle Clark - I like Clark bars. Unfortunately, the company that makes them is out of business...just like this team.

Noble Bulls over Noble Comer - Picking these Noble games is tough. The Bulls used to be tough in the 90's. Go with the Bulls.

Kelly over Maria - There is an awesome pizza place by Kelly. I have no idea what the pizza situation is by Maria. Plus, I like green.

Bogan vs Little Village
If I know one thing about the little village neighborhood, is that Two things stand out. 1.) they have great tacos, 2.) they have a lot of gangbangers, and 3.) they have great tacos. I don’t know about you, but I think tacos are absolutely delicious. I would never eat a Bogan.
Little Village: 24-21

Prosser vs Corliss:
As previously pointed out, both these teams have double ss in their names. The only thing better than double s’s are double d’s. So I clearly have to pick the P team here cause I know mine would prefer the double ds.
Prosser 69-0

Fenger vs Kennedy
Fenger fingers Kennedy like Kennedy did Marilyn Monroe. Finger fights forward for another victory
28-14

King vs Lake View
I’m gonna have to take King here, Lake View is in a transition year, and King runs the Jet with a lead blocker so they probably run that all over Lake View.
32-10

Dunbar vs Collins
The mighty men are back! And mightier than ever! I *might* have to keep picking them to win. That was a great pun, watch out Chris Bermann!

Von Steuben vs Foreman
Von Steuben is named after a German guy, and since we already had a section about the ss I can’t feel very American picking Von here. Foreman puts hornets in the water bottles, 30-14

Morgan Park vs Raby
I think MoPo is on the down trend. They have a couple strange losses on their schedules to teams I’d never expect them to lose too. Roll Al Raby. 28-21

Phoenix vs Marine
A classic tale of fire and water. Game of Thrones has the white walkers vs the dragons, I have Al Pastor Burritos vs Tums. I’ll take the rising pheonix here as well as take some more tums. Pheonix 34-24

Washington vs Senn
Washington was the first president and he had he legendary crossing of the Delaware river, but there weren’t anything like the mighty DAWGZ of Senn on that river! Roll Senn DAWGZ 36-14

Clark vs Kenwood
Kenwood has looked pretty good lately coming out of that conference looks like they will be the winners. And winners tend to, well, win. Kenwood 40-21

Noble Bulls vs Noble Comer
Which is the more nobler of the noble schools. The bulls are a noble animal, when they aren’t getting bullied and killed by Spaniards. But Mike Jordan was pretty good and he was a bull. I miss Mike :(.
Bulls 32-8

CPL GAME OF THE WEEK
Catalyst Maria vs Kelly
As noted by my fellow prior analysts, that Kelly wears green. Which is generally an awful color. A very Puke like Color. Brazil’s flag is green and Brazil is a very poor country. You know who’s flag isn’t green? America!
Maria has the catalyst for victory. 18-10

Bogan vs Little Village - I like Bogan, I mean they're the Bengals. Such a great animal. Aggressive, decisive and always ready to eat. That being said they'll go hungry this week. Phoenix it is.

Prosser vs Corliss - Corliss is across from Gately which I'm shocked the plumber didn't talk about those Gately Dogs, which is probably a close second to the gas station fried chicken down the street, but food talk aside, Bland keeps the Falcons soaring and helps pitch the shutout. Get this man some player of the week noms, already.

Fenger vs Kennedy - Kennedy was a great President, God rest his soul. But Fenger is the Titans, and if Denzel ever taught me anything it was to Remember the Titans. Fenger wins big.

King vs Lake View - If this were basketball pick 'em I'd take King going away. But I heard the young QB at Lake View is getting his feet under him. He should be able to capitalize this week. Wildcats in a nail biter.

Dunbar vs Collins - The Mightymen. ALWAYS. As reliable as a pocket mountain dew to get me through anything.

Von Steuben vs Foreman - Hornets are way to quick and elusive for Panthers

Morgan Park vs Raby - Never ever bet against anyone named Al. Raiders roll up on the mustangs.

Phoenix vs Marine - Salute to all of our military schools. You know who wins? America

Washington vs Senn - Patriots right next to the Military game. No contest. Dogs are kenneled.

Clark vs Kenwood - The Wood is the absolute lock of locks the rest of the year until state playoffs. Broncos yelling C'mon man at the rest of their competition.

Noble Bulls vs Noble Comer - Bulls are running, it won't be close.

CPL GAME OF THE WEEK
Catalyst Maria vs Kelly - The wolves. Dire wolves, werewolves? Won't matter. Kelly is spent

Oh man, this is the highlight of my week besides watching my sons play on friday night! Last week I talked my wife's ear off all week about the thread! But like always, she did not care and was not have any of it. All she cared about was playing our family vacation to The Hamptons for Christmas.

Anyways:

Little Village over Bogan. I'm confused on how there is a village within the City of Chicago, even if its little, I don't think thats how this works. But nonetheless, I like to picture of this team as a close knit village that prides itself on family and working together, and this week, the village of little people will be eating bengal.

Prosser over Corliss. I cant keep up with your guy's fascination over the s's d's and the p's, but then again, my wife doesn't either when we are in bed. Im hopping on the Blandwagon. Last week he was one of the picks I had right last week. All aboard the blandwagon. Choo Choo.

Fenger over Kennedy. I still can't believe there is a CPS school that sounds like Fingers. Childish fascination, maybe, but life is all about having fun. Fenger will be licking their Fingers after eating a W this week! LOL!!!

Lake View over King. Chicago is right along the beautiful Lake Michigan, which my yacht club and I hang out on more than a few times a year. The wife does not like when I go out and spend my sundays there and have a few daiquiris. The view from the city on the lake while buzzed on some peach daiquiris is unreal! And the view for the Lake View Wildcats will be prideful after a win over King. There are no kings in the USA!

Dunbar over Collins. The mighty men might be one of top mascots in the state! Thats enough reason for me to pick them over Collins!

Foreman over Von Steuben. I've actually had hornets in my water bottle, stung the inside of my mouth multiple times while I was hiking through The Rockies. Not fun, and it wont be for the Von Steuben Stupids for not checking their water bottles before the game. Foreman big time.

Al Raby over Morgan Park. I had an ex girlfriend named Morgan, lovely lady but she didnt like football, which in turn made me not like her on sundays during bears games! Thankfully, I met my wife later on, but thats a story for another time. Al Raby beats Morgan Park

Phoenix over Marine. Phoenix is hot place to vacation at, especially for my pale skin. Look for Phoenix to burn Marine, and question why they thought it was ok to spend their time and money to get sun burnt!

Senn over Washington. Last week I mentioned my wife’s step-sister’s brother in law owns a cute bulldog. Can never bet against Beef the Bulldog. Senn by a lot.

Kenwood over Clark. The name Clark makes me think of the character "Clark" from the hit TV show "The Office". In the show, Clark was an intern, and kind of a worthless character. Dude really pissed me off sometimes. Screw Clark on the Office and screw Clark the school. Hope Kenwood puts up forty on Clark and gets a running clock.

Noble Bulls over Noble Comer. As I told you guys before, I hate the word Comer, sends a chill down my spine. Always betting against Comer. Look for the Bulls to go back to their roots and channel their inner MJ and put up 6 (points, touchdowns, field goals, who knows?) against Comer.

Kelly over Maria. My sons new Jeep is Kelly green. He crashed his last one so I punished him by choosing the color for him this time. Thats what he gets. I think its gods way of showing me who to pick for the Game of the Week! Lets go Kelly Greens!

Not one for talking crap to another thread member behind a computer screen but very unimpressed with the insight Westmont Butcher offered. This is the CPL pick em thread, all shots in the dark are welcomed, even if it makes no sense. Step it up

Any updates on the Thursday night games?

Got me all excited yesterday but Fenger actually plays today!

Scores from last night:
Dyett best Tilden
Amundsen big over Urban Prep West
Taft beat perspectives, saw that in the Sun Times
Ag Science rolled over Goode, guess they weren’t so goode, last night…
Clemente squeaked out a tight one against chi military by 2, heard that was interesting.
Only 1 pick’em game was yesterday and that was Prosser vs Corliss. Behind another big game by Bland Prosser won big! Kid is legit, let’s give him some love!

Only one game from the CPL pick'em played last night? Some of these games sound great.
Dyett? Tilden?
Amundsen?
Taft? The fat guy in the bath tub?
Clemente? Like the baseball player? I do hope the team name is the Pirates.
Ag Science? Farmers? In Chicago? Is that for real?

I am learning so much about these Chicago High Schools. These names are awesome.

After originally thinking we would only get one pick’em game played this weekend, Jaton decided to actually do some work, yes a shock to us all, and reschedule all Friday and Saturday games to Monday. Hopefully we get some quick final reporting so I can report back!

Maria 42 Kelly 34

Here is your week 7 recap of some hot and heavy CPL action. After originally having all Friday and Saturday games cancelled, Jaton did a 180 and reversed his decision. Though originally claiming that all games were back on, only games involving teams eligible for the playoffs were rescheduled. As such we lost 4 games from this weeks pick’em.
Think most people tied with the same record but no one had less that 2 losses. My 1 loss was a forfeit but Senn, never again Dawgz never again!

Quick rundown of the games that did happen, the bland train is showing no signs of slowing down as Prosser rolls.
King took it to Lake View, the collins triplets must have left.
The hornets were no match for the panthers as Von rolled over Foreman.
Raby beat Morgan Park in the nightcap at Lane in a tight one.
Phoenix was the last game reported to Souicie despite their early start, and the Phoenix rose once again and got the W!
Dunbar stayed mighty and beat Collins.
Kenwood smacked Clark. Despite earlier talk on this forum about this being a potential conference champion game, it was not and it wasn’t close. What says you Coach Percy?

A few games that caught be my surprise was Lincoln Park over Westinghouse, Solorio over Curie and Hubbard not even showing up to play Simeon.

Week 8 predictions coming soon!!
