Are blocks behind the ball illegal? I have seen this called several times the past 2 years. Usually in returns, turnovers and reverses. Can you block them as long as you don't blow them up?

Emphasis on crack back blocks that are well behind the play... trying to keep kids safe

Im curious can you block them at all behind the play? I ask because I've have it called at the youth level and I'm not sure if my blockers should just quit on the play or if they can make a safer block.

Not sure if officials are all on the same page with this. It seems to be the officials call....

I heard the new rule is not only blocks behind the play but also blindside blocks on a defenseless player that doesn't get his head around in time to react. I saw this called in a game last week.

Might as well play flag football. In early 1980s when I played highschool ball, these hit happen every game. Once you strap on the chin strap and cross the lines it's war. Alot has changed since then, safety is number one issue, but taking away blocking. Come one now
