Eh. It is what it is. It was a [edit from effort to C- level showing for people who didn’t like my verbiage] even for the group of players available. Wisconsin is pretty awful, and we could have won by more.

Doesn’t matter. How many games a year come down to the final shot? Some team has to be on the wrong side and the other on the right side. Point is we won a game that most on here weren’t giving us a chance throughout the week. I’m sure when McConnell was ruled out that number of naysayers jumped even higher. We won a monster game. Road game. Stopped the bleeding, reinstate some confidence, a lot of guys chipped in quality minutes. Pike does it year after year.

Wisconsin is not awful. What are you talking about! May be a bit down, but they came into the game 16-10 and 7-8 in conference.

Just my opinion. They smoke and mirror their way to wins every year with a slow tempo and by rarely turning the ball over, hitting 3s and they usually have some guys with post moves. They have even less talent than usual and our team a month ago would boat race them.
2 of our 5 starters out and 3 of 5 out when Paul went down with Reiber and Palmquist playing extended minutes and somehow we won on the road in the Kohl center. ONIONS this team FIGHTS every year come end of February .. so much happiness given to us by Pike and the boys

The defense was an A, the offense was a D. A low enough D to leave the final grade at C. You enjoyed watching us on offense in that second half? By effort, I mean performance. The effort level was high.
Newsflash, winning close games isn’t “Smoke and Mirror” .. there’s actually skill and mental toughness involved. The NCAA tournament every game is like this. We’ve won 3 now this year, all on the road, like this. Great sign. Many teams can’t say the same. You have to be clutch and we are. Cliff block, that last possession, pure toughness
For all critiquing me: take a deep breath and realize if we lost that game at the buzzer, you wouldn’t be on here all energetic to kill anyone criticizing the team. The offense was bad, and I question the coaching as much or more than the players. Simpson can’t go from 5-7 for 10 pts 3 days ago to 1-3 for 2 pts against a slow *** team like Wisconsin. We make it too hard on ourselves.

Then you should probably say performance since effort and performance are different words that have different meanings.
It’s been a C/D effort by fans who don’t understand the big ten and how every team goes through ebbs and flows. Even dumber considering how RU has dug holes before escaping 3 years in a row.
I don’t disagree it is ambiguous, but people use the word effort all the time to describe “how a team/player did”. Poor “showing” would be more clear.
Speculation -- I heard a very credible rumor that half RU players had covid during the year (around the MSU and iowa games)--is it true ,who knows , and does it account for some games this year where we loooked exhausted?? I would'nt be surprised if Caleb has been hurt for awhile ?

This is absurd.....Wisconsin isn't Purdue but RU is down 2 starters on the road. And the like of this post by Rutgers56 is another troll. It's ok to have discussion about the games or rosters, but it's always apologizing for winning for some fans.
