Anyone here planning on signing up for the Chase Sapphire Reserve? Hefty annual fee of $450, but you get a $300/yr travel credit, 100K signup bonus, airport lounge access, and 3X points on travel/food.

I'm 99% sure I'm going to get it and downgrade my CSP to the Freedom. Seems you can sign up this year and get the travel voucher in 2016 then get another in 2017 and cancel before the second year annual fee hits which would really make this card worth it. I probably won't cancel it, but I can see why others would.

Looking at it. No hard details yet. Made a few calls. From what they are saying will be a new account to get the bonus, upgrade won't get it...

Almost all the details have been confirmed by Chase. I'm within the 5/24 rule so a new account shouldn't be a problem for me.

There won't be a point in having both the CSR and CSP so that's why I'll downgrade the CSP.

We have the Amex Hilton Honors Card and a Costco Visa. I use the Amex for gas and restaurants since it's 6X points and we use the Visa at Costco to double our rebate at the end of the year. Since my bank doesn't charge me for bill pay I usually just log in to Chase and send them the money out of our checking immediately after making a charge. I will probably switch back and forth with the Amex and Visa Hilton. Honors Card every year to get the big boys us reward for 1st year purchases. That will be free lodging on vacation every year.

I've called Chase the last three days about the expected Sapphire reserve card. Each time get a different story. This last one basically denied any questions and was like, when it's up on the website then we can talk about it. They must be getting blown up with calls.

Tried to get a ruling about how firm they were with the 5/24. Basically got the "well every application gets looked at." Curious to test it.

The list goes on. Enjoy, my friend. Aloha.

To put it more succinctly, the posters of the paddock are the Gunny Highways of the world.

I've read that if you are a Chase bank customer you can apply in person at the bank and they will waive the 5/24 rule for you.

@B.B.d.K. this could be good for you. I can't remember if they have Chase in Kentucky or not.

amzn card isn't worth the pull IMO, you're better off buying amzn gift cards with 5 or 6% cards in addition to earning fuel rewards.

I've basically given up getting new Chase cards.

So annoying. Chase is my "real" bank too, but they can GGP.
