Gotta give credit where due- UNC played a great game. We needed to be healthy and play our A game to win tonight. Neither happened.

Duke fans, UNC fans and the entire sports nation got screwed tonight not seeing Zion on the big stage.

This was only one loss- hats off to UNC . But my heart hurts for Zion tonight.

Duke will be back, Zion will be back.

Next.....

I have no problem tipping my hat to Carolina. It’s not their fault Zion didn’t play, they won fair and square. But I do want to make note of 2 things...

#1 — We can win without Zion. It’s just that when you develop a gameplan and everything you practiced and defensive assignments are changed at a moment’s notice, everything spirals into chaos. We aren’t as bad as we looked without Zion - we were just unprepared to not have him.

#2 — I don’t blame refs, bad and missed calls are part of the game. However, 45 seconds remaining in 1st half. Javin’s block was cleaner than a whistle. I replayed it a good 7 or 8 times and I say that without being biased. At that point we had momentum going and would of had possession only down 5 points. Carolina instead ended on a tear up 10 at half on the ending note of a dunk. I just really feel like that was the turning point.

I think they are a good team for what they are. They have a exp and can get hot shooting. But i think their celing is limited against really good teams that can guard which is why i think they are 6 and 5 against the best teams they have played. To me they are a notch below the top 5 teams. But they are in a group of about 10 teams that can make a run

This is one of the most pathetic defense teams I have ever seen. Guys watching the ball, not switching when they are supposed to. Zero communication the entire night on ball screens. Getting back on defense seemed optional at some points. Also, complete lack of defensive adjustment, should have went zone to start the second half.

I made a post a few days back about some in their fanbase just can't accept an @$$ whoopin. l can man up and say we got our @$$ whooped and they deserve all the credit.

On #2, I usually am over refs after games, and I did not watch the second half, but they were BAD. Bolden gets called for a chicken wing 1. Before he even made a move 2. Maye just got away with throwing an elbow to bullying his way to the hoop and got away with two hands on the offensive player first.

Then Duke get hits with an illegal screen. Fine. But 32 for the cheats did not even come close to a legal screen. Early on, Duke was going for an offensive board and the guy for UNC put both arms extended in Duke's back and nothing.

I have never heard Bilas claim it was a bad call on Duke, see the replay, and say the same thing. He did that on one of our tip ins...

Hahaha dude said one of the most pathetic defenses ever. You must’ve been in a coma since Detroit Pistons last won a championship or you’ve only watch like 3 basketball games in your life

Javin’s tip-in that was called off and ruled over the back was garbage. So was the illegal screen and the charging call on Jack White’s hop-step floater. But, those 2 instances I don’t feel like would of changed game momentum or outcome.

Crappy refs but Carolina truly played better and earned the win.

My point is everybody cheats. College basketball is a cesspool with the one and done rule. Duke fans thinking they are the exception is laughable. If you think Zion is playing for free this year your head is buried deep in the sand.

You really have to take your hat off to Carolina, they outplayed us in every phase of the game, and yes, we were outcoached.
It was so obvious that they wanted it more, and the officials might not of been the best, but they had nothing to do with the outcome of this game.
Carolina has beaten Duke what, 3 of the last 4 meetings? Time to get over it and move on. Duke got beat by a National Title contender, there is no shame in that.
I still love this team, and we just have to look at this as a bump in the road. Everything is done for a reason, so just hang on, and stay with this team, because Duke is not going away.

I hate to say it but Carolina is a great team and they have a real good chance at winning it all this year. I envy how they move the ball to get easy buckets in the paint and how they make it a priority to rebound.
