Speed kills brother, bigger doesn't always mean better

The QB looked quick. Honestly thought it was the jv game? That QB at Crest wouldn't start at swo on the jv team. Hea gotta be 3 or 4th string at Crest? Injuries or transfers or what? When I remember Crest, winning titles, huge and fast

KM would make a lot of varsity squads look like the JV team.

Seems like the bball coach was checking eligibility and realized a player was ineligible that just happened to be on the football team. That's what I heard anyway but I have no clue how it all went down but I remember how bad it was for those kids .
I wonder why Crest91 used the term “dirty coach” The whole issue stemmed from a clerical oversight. Seems South Point and some other teams forfeited some games that year or next for basically the same thing.

Clerical oversight? Was you a teacher/coach or invloved somehow during that time? You seem quite overly concerned with the fact that I brought that up. Not only after the fact that Crest never saw past the second round until Kirby left and Barnes took over in 2010 and this all came to pass after Crest middle had a undefeated season in 2005. The kids walked away. Even if the scandal had nothing to do with Crest winning, the kids still walked away and Kirby LITERALLY got slapped in the face by a pissed off parent.

There is a lot more to that story. How about we get back to this years team and the first round match up between Crest and Catholic?

I just pray we can beat West Rowan and have the opportunity to play one of these high quality programs. We’ve never faced CC, and we have played Crest several times and it’s always fun. Love to face good teams anytime of year but especially in playoffs! Good luck to all and stay healthy.

Guys, Catholic beat a Cuthbertson team that did not even have a winning record on a last second desperation Hail Mary from 40 yards then had Marvin Ridge going for the game winning score the next week from 5 yards from the end zone and Marvin Ridge threw a game losing interception. I believe Crest is better than both those teams. Crest could easily win this game. Catholic will be a monster next year, this may be the year to get Catholic and Crest is plenty good enough to do it.

Did you see the Crest schedule? Pretty sure they just rounded up some kids from Gastonia streets for some of those games.

Catholic had not practiced in 5 days going into that Cuthbertson game and then had three days of practice(really 2) to get ready for a solid Marvin Ridge team who hadn't played in ten days. Just context for both those games, plus this is the first time Catholic has played two Friday's in a row since Monroe/Weddington. In an offense like we run consistency is everything, even if how often you play.
We'll be ready. That's for sure.

Not a parent or coach of the program. Was just curious why your so upset about something that happened 15 years ago. You should probably take a break from Crest football for a bit. Seems to be affecting your mental health.

Nah, lol I'll admit I'm a big fan. Maybe even too big like you said. Professional football is basically fake news to me and NC doesn't have much of a college team anywhere. I guess I do get carried away from time to time. Back to present football.

I heard Catholic had a bunch of players on spring break for the Cuthbertson and Marvin Ridge games.. I sure hope that's the case because Cuthbertson stinks this year

Not for Marvin game. Cuthbertson game many had just gotten back that day, but no practice in five days is not conducive to being 100% on your game. We won both games so none of that matters now. What matters is what we do this week.

Underdogs, Crest is ranked higher in the Preps Poll.
#85 and #86 look to be physical WRs and #2 out for the Backfield is lightning and so is the sophomore back for Catholic. It’s gonna be a tall order for my Chargers to contain all Catholic weapons

85 is a freshman as well. Going to be a stud as he continues to develop.

Saw where some teams have moved kick off back to 7:30. Anyone know what time this game starts?

Hope all is well LD. How long a drive from Cleveland County to Dirty Myrtle by tractor? Figured you’d know someone who knows.
Doing well good buddy. How the heck have you been? I would say bout 12 hours or less thanks to that bypass in Monroe :)

Nothing wrong with that. As a long time Catholic fan, Oddo was notorious for running the same play over and over. In one state championship game, he ran one play in the second half. Assistant coach asked when they were going to run a different play. Response, "when they stop this one." They never did so under the right circumstances, you only need one play. Both teams will load the box. Neither of these teams mind because most teams have defensive backs that prefer to chase rabbits in a spread offense and don't want to be in the box after 3, 4 plays. This will be a physical game and fun to watch if you like line play as the line of scrimmage will determine who wins.
