I think Hickory only has one fan on this site. That’s all I’ve ever seen post anyway. I saw Hickory twice last year, and based on what all they had coming back this year, I think they would compete with most of the 4A teams, maybe all of them. I haven’t seen Crest this year, but I know what kind of athletes/gamers they breed. I think this one’s gonna be a classic.I'm sick of this. Is there not one Hickory fan that isn't scared absolutely to death that will get on here and go back and forth. Or are you waiting on the outcome before coming on here?
We have questions that need answered.
1. Why is the kickoff @ 7pm?
2. Why do the gates open @ 6 for a 7pm kickoff
3. I hear the one fan that has testicles say they'll beat us by 14. They might. But, why do they think that?
There are a few more but those three will do.
We are not Statesville. Win or lose we will not go quietly. The Nation is coming. 6 time is coming.

I've been posting on here, I'm both a Hibriten and Hickory fan. Been out of town and not posting, today. Most of us very well know that Crest and Cleveland County, in general, bring good football. This Hickory team is a bit better than last year, in my opinion. None of the schools can help their strength of schedule, you play who you get scheduled and is in your conference. I know many coaches try to get more competitive teams for non-conference games. I'm looking forward to a great playoff game and I do think that Hickory could well be 2 touchdowns better. The game won't be decided by any of us on here, it will be decided on the field on Friday night!
Cheerduck is the only Hickory fan I know as far as forums and he posts on other sites too like CVAC 2A. There’s even more than me as far as EB supporters but after bout the 5th game they post on other posts or just generally get quite cause there ain’t nothing there at EB with the coach drama and the tallent graduated most of which was hurt last year.
I got 3 teams yeah call me strange but I’m not alone lol. Watauga EB and North Lincoln. Sometimes I get happy when Freedom and Newton Conover do ok cause of family ties in both schools especially Freedom with all the inlaws. Freedom has maybe 2 faithful posters on here
Dad has a 1st cousin that played QB for Hickory in the mid 60s Hal Queen. Good man, standout QB but wouldn’t say he was the best at Hickory, played for App State afterwards. Was very happy to see Hickory win last year
My sons went to Hibriten, only my youngest did sports, he graduated in 2017. I went to Hickory and my wife went to Foard. I have had family at East Burke, Foard, St. Stephens, South Caldwell and McDowell. I mainly pull for Hibriten and Hickory and I'm sure I'll be pulling for South as my great-nephews get to high school. I'm happy when any of our local schools do well in athletics, it is such a good character builder and develops terrific skills for functioning well in society. Frank Barger was athletic director when I was at Hickory. Troy Washam was my algebra teacher and David Elder was my teacher and friend of my parents (we went to church together where my wife and I were married).

Anyone have a guess at how many fans will be out at the game tomorrow evening. I just know it will be standing room only. And packed.
Hard telling but when I went to the 3rd rounder last year when they played North Lincoln there was some room here and there. Wasn’t packed. Doubt that will be the case tomm but we’ll see. I won’t be there, gotta see if North makes history and breaks out of the 3rd round for the 1st time. Anyone know if Ashbrook been past 3rd round before or lately? Off subject but curious lol
They have won a state title.
Simmons has Crest 7 point dogs which seems much more reasonable than some of the outlandish Hickory winning by 3 TD that their fans have been throwing out. I agree Hickory being undefeated, defending state champs, and playing at home they should be favored to win. 7 seems about right.

I am the only Hickory fan I have seen make a prediction, and I said 2 TDs. I stand by that and if I am wrong I will eat my crow.
I have a Facebook account, but I only participate in the football discussions, here. My bad, I didn't know there was another discussion going on, there.
I was doing good and staying off FB then happened to look over there. Believe it or not it's WAY more civil here. For the most part everybody likes everybody here and we all just throw friendly jabs at each other all in good fun. It's ruthless over there.
Yeah, I'm better off, here, where we keep it in perspective. It's youth football, I hate to see any kid get injured and I refuse to let this be anything more than fun. When it stops being fun, I'll stop engaging.
36 degrees at kickoff, dropping to 32 by 9PM. Bundle up, should be a dandy!
Hickory has had a challenging season, specially when Fred T. Foard held them down. I hope the put a boost on that defense.
Fred T…by gosh…Foard….will be on a very short list of teams that have a win streak heading into the fall of ‘25. They’re rolling!
Let’s see who joins them on that list.
