Memory lane...1996....national interest in both teams and a battle between two 1996 state champions which has been a much talked about dream match up. Crest was loaded with Finney, Borders, Gentry, Malloy, etc. While Hickory had Collins. Hunt and a bonafide backfield. Coaching royalty in Elder, Stewart, Kirby, etc.......Last time they played the Hickory passing game was spectacular enroute a state championship....this time we are hoping for a different outcome. Both teams are well coached by some of the states very best Lloyd, Latham, Toms, Glass etc.... Talent abounds all over the field for both power houses. My heart says Crest in OT classic.

I know you guys have been waiting on my opinion so I do apologize for making you wait. 😂

If the Crest team that played EL shows up it will be over at halftime.
If the Crest team that played Ashbrook shows up it will be close.
With that said, I don’t see Crest losing another game this season. We didn’t give them much of a fight in game 1 this year. We had a lot to figure out but I know what I saw on the field. Crest had all the ingredients. I’ve said it on here and to my friends offline. They did surprise me a few times this year with some games but if Crest plays like I think they will, it’s a done deal. A balance of run and pass is damn near unstoppable. Good luck to the Chargers.

Seems like it’s Crest’s year. Y’all have some elite athletes on both sides. I haven’t seen either team play in person but have watch some online. Hickory isn’t quite as good as the last two years but they are solid in all areas and will have a good game plan. Run the ball, protect your QB and don’t make mistakes and I think you’ll beat them. Winner of this game wins next week.

Nope.. I said what I said. I meant what I said. Hickory or Crest will be the 5A State Champions. If it's Crest it will be number 7........ 7 in 58 years......

KM has ZERO in 101 years...........

Sounds like you have no cart and no horse...
They do have a toupee tho…

SP saw em both on the field obviously. Both standout teams....really, really good teams.
I believe Crest will win by a very controlled 31-35 to 21 type game. The score may seem close, but I think it will be Crest from the onset to the final whistle in control. Their OL isn't talked about enough. Good players.
Hickory offensive scheme will keep them in it and always threatening but it'll be Crest.
One correction - the State title game was played last week .... as I think it will be proven by show of this game's score and the state title score once Crest wins.

I was at The Hickory vs JM game and can tell you on that night Hickory was good but not dominant at all. JM had and walk in TD to number 4, and a likely TD to number 17 that was dropped. They are good but honestly JM had no business losing that game.

either way Crest is Crest and is a state champion favorite for a reason.
I beg to differ, I feel like Hickory should have won the game a lot easier, Hickory missed multiple field goals, I believe Hickory was the better team, and the better team won the game that night, the defensive line for Hickory really was in the QB face for the majority of the night.

Many is counting Hickory out, but I believe tonight will be a good game; Hickory graduated 23 Seniors and still managed to have a great season, (12-1) overall and (8-0) in a legit conference, they have two Shrine Bowl selections as well, but they've grown from that South Point game, and they have a lot of athletes on that team, and well Coached, credit to Coach Glass and his staff, App St commit Dorrian Medley has played great football all season long, on both sides of the ball, Jaheem Jenkins has come in at the RB position and filled big shoes of Isaiah Lackey, I believe he is at 1,569 rushing yards 34 Touchdowns and he is only a Junior, OL Campbell commit Rahshad Swinton has really be a beast on that offensive line as well along with the rest of the OL.

Hickory 28
Crest 24

UPSET!!!!!!!!!!

Hickory has 2 field goals and a safety. Defense is playing good. Offense waking up. We run the ball they’re in trouble.

Should be 29 to 8. Majay, dropped a TD.
