I’m watching this game between SC State and Prairie View A&M. It’s the Championship of HBCU schools. Prairie View was up 21 to 0 at the half. Now it’s 35 to 35 and State has the ball with seconds to go. It’s a great game.
You know whyWhy don't they play in the FCS playoffs?
Guaranteed money and national exposure. Why don't they play in the FCS playoffs?
It was just flagged against a Washington player in the Bucked Up Bowl in LA.Same. And apparently spiking the football after a TD is allowed now. Saw it in the first half and no flag. That would certainly be flagged if a Gamecock player did it.
Why don't they play in the FCS playoffs?
HBCU teams can play in the FCS playoffs, and sometimes do, but often don't because the champions of the main HBCU conferences (MEAC & SWAC) play in the Celebration Bowl instead, which is a lucrative, de facto national championship for Black college football, and the costs/logistics of the FCS playoffs (travel, hosting) can be prohibitive for many HBCUs, though top non-champion teams can get at-large bids, as Florida A&M University (FAMU) did in 2021.
You drawing a Blank on Coastal?SC State wound up being our best win of the year.
Same reason Duke didn't make the playoffs: ranking. Why don't they play in the FCS playoffs?
That's bucked up!It was just flagged against a Washington player in the Bucked Up Bowl in LA.
4OT's was enough to call it a dayHappy for SC State but that winning conversion was an awful call. The ball never crossed the pylon or the goal line.
I'm glad SC State got the win but I hate it came down to a controversial call. I'll admit I haven't had time to look at it.Happy for SC State but that winning conversion was an awful call. The ball never crossed the pylon or the goal line.
