Word i'm hearing that Faulkner is seeking info on overseas opportunity's. makes sense for him he has a family now. Also reports going around that 4-6 players could transfer out within the next couple weeks. One player already informed the staff that he’s out. I haven’t heard the names to go with the claims though. Who knows at this point.
Too much to write. if alot of it is true.explains this teams play . Mack caught some really bad seeds with this team. These guys don't appear to be those type guys. But i guess you never know people.I’m reading vague tweets about serious internal issues on the basketball team. These issues are apparently being referenced on multiple podcasts. Can anyone kind of inform us and keep us updated as to what is being said. I don’t really listen to podcast. TIA
I felt when this transfer crap was approved it would not be an overall good thing. But this is what we are stuck with now. Just watch how this NIL is going to make things even worse .Roster management is incredibly difficult in this new world. I think college basketball is in trouble. You can’t live in the portal if you do you better not miss. This team is a good example. He has no leverage over these kids. The power has truly shifted to the players. That is not good when you are dealing with kids.
Same concern with "the college game" when a HC finds a better opportunity and leaves a program behind?Roster management is incredibly difficult in this new world. I think college basketball is in trouble. You can’t live in the portal if you do you better not miss. This team is a good example. He has no leverage over these kids. Just like one of our football players who wanted to transfer out, I think there’s a rule you cannot transfer twice in one academic year. This4 to 6 players might bolt? That would be a disaster for the program. Going by just my opinion and no information here are my possibilities.
I think everyone believes JJ Traynor is probably leaving and surprised it hasn't happened yet. I just don't get why he's not playing. It's like he's a walk on.
Withers needs a new start. Just like pro players who get traded tend to perform better once they're with their new team. I see very little reason why he would stay.
Cross because what I've read here in this thread but I've noticed his attitude on the court lately. He pouts when something goes against him. He doesn't look happy to be here. Now he's a sophomore and has two seasons remaining which means he can still salvage a college career.
Faulkner also from what I read from this thread. Starting a pro career overseas does sound better than the NIT. The other grad transfers West and Locke don't have much of an option and will probably stay on.
Same thing with Malik who's been here seems like 10 years. Many believe Williamson could bolt because he's been such a disappointment but he doesn't seem like the kind of person who would quit like that. But a new environment could help his game as well.
I wouldn't expect Ellis to leave as he appears to be the starter at PG going forward with two more seasons remaining. Dre Davis probably stays because his brother has signed for next season and Curry and Wheeler have time to show what they can do, especially Curry. Gabe will probably move on if these two stay.
My prediction is four players leaving, maybe 5 counting Gabe. Cross, Withers and Faulkner plus two guys who don't play much. Faulkner my stay as his college career has just a little over a month remaining. We might know why Cross left Miami and Withers has nothing really to lose going somewhere else.
I could be totally off on this but this is what many fans think, watching the cluster F@%# of this season.
