CSN: So which familiar names need to win out?

Naz Doesn't need to win out but can really only afford 1 more hiccup then its win out time. I see this Benet game as a must win however.
Naz will have a hard time with Benet and Marist. They can win the other 3 and make the playoffs at 5-4, hopefully. If they can pull one out at Benet, they definitely have a shot at making playoffs. If the young ones can mature, they could make a deep run in 5a playoffs. A lot of things would have to fall the right way but it could happen! Giving away two wins to ND and Carmel does not help.

Of the teams you listed I'm not sure any of them can rattle off 5 straight. That's tough when your backs against the wall. Didn't WWS do something like that a couple years ago and got in.

Giving away?
eh some see it a different way. But I guess you can say up with 22 seconds and under 5 minutes in the 4th could be considered giving it away. 4th quarter turnovers (give aways) hurt. A good team puts those away.

Provy has a tough road head of them - even though only 2 losses currently, They have some tough games with Rice, MC, LA and Fenwick I believe on their schedule. Same for Rita - MC, LA and Rice await. Possible for them to both go 4-5 and miss out for playoffs for 2nd straight year.

Looking at their schedule, I think WWS is going to struggle to even win one game this year, maybe they find some way to surprise someone but not anything I would want to place a wager on...

DT,

Points are going to be sketchy at 5-4. I think tomorrow is a needed win to get back on track and to secure the team confidence. Plus, who doesn't enjoy watching Benet get their smug *** beat.

I would imagine the Benet kids might smell a little blood in the water and be ready to play Naz tomorrow, given the beat down they have received the last few years by Julian Love and Co. I think they will be ready to go...

illini14,

Still salty about that Boylan Beat down for the first night game in history at Naz?

No, actually took joy in it. Being born and raised in Belvidere and attending both HS's in town, we always root against the Titans. Boylan and Belvidere were the two top programs in the Rockford area during the 90's and early 2000's before Belvidere split into two schools.

jwarigaki - Naz's biggest issue this year is going to be that they do not have as much depth as they did over the past three years and are playing a conference schedule against a bunch of teams that remember very well the last three years and have circled the Naz game on their schedules as "the" game of the year for their team. In short its their biggest game of the year.

Hence the Carmel game last week.

Even games they win the remainder of the year will be close, which as you well know, can lead to crazy things happening. E.g. a broken play with a minute to go or some such that can flip a game the wrong way.

Norm,

No excuses from me on their losses so far, they are just young and lost a QB for the season on the offensive side.

As for Carmel, that's a bad example as they haven't played each other in 3 season and that game was close until the final second.

Appreciate that. The broken play or single play on a close game reference was regarding Carmel.

The rest of the schedule is the biggest challenge and having played the majority of those teams if not all of those teams over the past 3 years, those are the ones that have circled the Naz game. Even those teams that have not traditionally been a tough game for them will be so this year. every one of them will be close.

Speaking of salty. You need to let the Benet experience go.

What's the history behind Benet? They seem to be competitive but not dominant....

In the past were they good enough to put running clock beat downs on folks and hence folks love it when they get a little beat down themselves?

I believe Jwar had a son who attended Benet. Apparently, he was not happy with the school and sent his other kids to Naz before moving out of state. MC140 is suggesting that Jwar should let his issues with Benet go. This has been a public service announcement.

The fundamental education is great. Most of the teachers are great. Coaches and extracurricular very good but the smug attitude was a huge issue. Too many Ivory tower issues and no diversity. Of course this is only my opinion!

2 sons to be precise: 1 just graduated and 1 is a junior. Unfortunately Jwar moved out of the state :(
