Cumberland lodging recs

My girl wants to get a cabin on Lake Cumberland for her birthday weekend. I've been but know very little about it. Will probably be 6 people. May rent a pontoon- I don't know.

Can anyone help me out?

We weren't happy with our cabin at Jamestown. Mainly because it had bed bugs. Moved to the hotel which was alright.

The cabins at the Marinas and State Park in Russell County are terrible and look like they haven't been updated in 20 years.

VRBO may be your best bet for something nice, but then you may just be overlooking the lake and have to drive 15 to actually get to it.

Stay at the hotel at Jamestown. We houseboat out of Jamestown and have a slip at the marina. They have several different boats you can rent and also have a bar/ restaurant on the dock too.

VRBO, Homeaway, Airbnb are all pretty solid. NY has similar style lakes, and you can get some real skeevy places. Go with those sites, I've booked over a dozen times on those and only had one misrepresentation. Even still, the place wasn't bad, just not great.

Check out Golden Pond Resort. Only a short drive to Conley Bottom.

Pulaski Park in Somerset now has cabins you can rent and also Lees Ford Marina has cabins and boat rentals and a nice restaurant on site.
