for some reason I have a positive feeling about what we can expect from youngsters Asafo-Adjei and Young up front.

I'm really surprised that GAA didn't beat out Meyers. Meyers gets beat on a consistent basis. GAA is a mauler.

I'm beyond depressed that Hyde isn't contributing more. I like the guy. Supposed to be an ox.

I disagree - I though besides Toth - Meyers might have been our most consistent o-linemen last season.
I AM surprised that GAA didn't beat out Haynes at the other G

So is the NG. His weight has always been a hot button topic but, In pictures, Elam looks soooo much better this year. Is that 360# his real weight?

Peace
That's it, unless he sucks in his stomach....

Good to see recruiting paying off.
Bad to see th past few recruiting classes NOT developing enough to beat out kids that were in high school last year.

I think you're looking at this backward. Of course we've had some good classes but we will continue to bring in better talent (providing we win like I think we will) which will be in the running for positions up the chart until, at some point, the talent we're bringing in is not decidedly better than that which is already here. Even that is kind of a false situation in many instances as given the limitation on numbers, your third team guys are going to be true Frosh most of the time so they normally only have to beat out one guy (or one injury) to move to second at their position.

Dubose isn't ready after hip injury I guess. Haven't heard a single positive thing from Pringle or Taylor all fall camp. Concerning to say the least.
I thought Stoops said last night on his radio show Dubose is ready to go and Pringle was coming along ?

Badet returning KOs with King puts two dangerous guys back there. I think our special teams will be an asset this year instead of such a liability.

Honestly its more of need then we give it credit for. If STs could get a couple of scores and help with field position, and not allow cheap touchdowns, it would be huge.

I think if you consider this comment, you will realize that it makes no sense. If true, we would not see true freshmen gaining positions in the depth chart at Bama, Michigan, OSU, FSU, etc. Recruiting talent does not mean the staff is not developing the players on campus. I am happy most fans are happy to see studs be studs and become relevant early. Happens at every good program. Every place we want to be.

I'm happy to see cash Daniels and Landon young being our 2's. I think they step up as mid season starters, look who they've beat out against the competition. JUCO's and small 10 transfers with more experience, only bodes well for the Cats not to mention a huge publicity charge since bit are in state guys that could help the perception of Ky football

I can agree with that, why some get torn up because the new guy moves pass the older guys only reinstates that we are getting better players in recruiting. It doesn't lower expectations for those who dropped on the depth chart, actually its the way you build depth.

Yeah fans like bill are hard to understand, do we not want to recruit a better and more talented player every year? And if we do, should we be surprised that they pass older players on the depth chart? I mean I understand being a half empty UK football fan but to be totally negative about this, makes no sense at all.

Hard to understand?. Fair enough. You WILL get a stud frosh in now and again that beats out an upperclassman. I think it would also be fair to think that player development would keep that number being ten to twelve players being freshmen.

Hey, hope I'm wrong. I hope these are the guys that will get this thing rolling.

I've done the same hoping thing since 1975.

Overall.....hasn't worked out real well.

10-12?

How many true frosh are starting on this team?

A: 0

We have about 4 true frosh in the 2 deep. On past UK teams, Kash and Griffin would be starting, and probably Young and maybe Snell. The fact that the staff knows they have to play Riggs, but Hart and Conrad have him on the bench is an uncommon experience at UK.

Stoops has praised Taylor, even going as far to say the true freshman will play. Pringle on the other hand hasn't had much talk as far as I know
