Why do you think that we are seeing a fall off in the pass rush from the last several seasons? I know we lost to NFL drafted edge rushers, but the current roster has several guys who have shown the capability to rush the passer - including several DTs. What is the difference from the past several years? Has the move of Carter to DE improved our and his capability to be a disruptive pass rusher?

We are playing a different defense. Manny frequently had 8 guys at the line and any combination could rush at any time. That’s more difficult for the offense to pick up and leads to more sacks. However if there is not a sack, it can lead to big plays. How many frustrating 3 and longs ending in big plays did we see? With Allen’s defense, there are 6 guys at the line and usually only 4 rushing. Easier for the offense to pick up. In exchange for fewer rushers, there are fewer explosive plays against this D so the offense must drive the whole field. Both can be effective.
