About as eclectic group as I can recall. Three non-P$ teams: OSU, CC, MS. Don't recall that.

All P4 conferences represented, SEC with just 2 - I expected 4 or so.

Only 3 of top 8 seeds.

Net, should be wide open, wild & woolly imo. Murray is my fav, then SEC, and ACC sux.

Going to bet on Coastal

First time since 1957 that 8 different teams made CWS from year before

^ Seems seeding was pretty meaningless. 🤪
I learned that last year when we went, they don't reseed after any round, so #3 vs. #6 national seed is what happens in Omaha when the favorites win out. But no doubt they are the best two teams remaining on paper

As long as it's not UL, I can live with the outcome. I'm rooting for Murray first and then Arkansas.

I wonder if there are any 2 schools and communities more unalike that have ever played in the CWS than Murray State and UCLA?

I wish we had that Hogart kid for Murray. He has been killing the ball in the NCAA. And is from Madisonville I think

What is remarkable about Oregon State is that they played an entirely Independent schedule with no conference affiliation and played their first 10 games in three separate tournaments in Arizona and Texas, were swept in four games playing Oregon and of course didn't have a Conference tournament to navigate, which these days I'm not so sure isn't a luxury. They went a full two weeks between their last regular season game and the first game in their Regional.

Given so many seeds lost, you really think a #6 vs. a #8 seed means anything? I sure don't. I mean #1,2,4,5,7 lost. And #13 decimated #4 on the field.

What I mean is they seed the entire field at the very beginning of the tournament and if all the top 8 seeds win, then number 6 plays number 3 in Omaha, in the very first game.

So the other teams that knocked out higher seeded teams may be playing an unranked team in their first game in Omaha
