Re: D-League: Time for Nine Edition

Hello boys!

Game day...Excited, nervous. we're gonna do this, been a mess all week, feel good today!

Hope all is well ( envious of those in Fla) moreso those in Indi

Sis spent some time with Mu last night... old times/memories, will post pic later.

Ghost: Um from my perspective, that is buzz-kill, way too much info on 1st meeting? Right? Southern ladies, keep info for much later? If I were interested, my goal would be to keep your interest....not you running for the door! Having said that, you"re a guy, so no clue what/how you all tick.

Leggo boys.!!!!!

Also: UK grad, just want you to know that I've been praying for your wife and your family. I wanted to post so much (from a womans perspective) but did not, as I thought that I was/am way to familiar with what she is dealing with. You both are going to be OK! I promise. Much love/respect for both of you!

Herod, I miss you! (BBH as well, please post more)

Be safe and cheer your asses off. I want no man in here to have an arse left after this game!

Hope y'all are OK UKGrad93.

Willy my man, BBH where the heck have you been, also Hesh. Mash, Mav, LEK, KS, Austin, all others....it's time, it has arrived. Seems like it's been a month, but now.....time to get 'er dun. Cats baby! Let's go. FCC.

Re: D-League: Time for Nine Edition

Blu - we really appreciate your prayers. The d-league has been a source of comfort and support for me this week. We have resolved to come through this better and stronger. Please feel free to post anything that you think will be helpful.

I'm nervous, but confident about the Cats tonight.

Does anyone know where I can buy a pack of hyenas? Not just 2 legged jackals that I find here, but an actual pack of wild hyenas.

Blu...love the avatar.

KAT...Stay out of foul trouble. Need you on the court.

All Cats in the paint...DON'T JUMP OUT OF THE GYM ON EVERY HEAD FAKE! Just stay calm, keep your hands up and make them shoot over you.

Cats on the perimeter...DEFEND THE ARC!

Cats on the perimeter...drive to the hoop. And throw the ball to KAT...like let him touch the ball every trip. They cannot handle us in the paint.

This is going to be a knock down drag out battle. Wisconsin is the team I least wanted to face in this tourney. No doubt we can and will beat them. Just need to bring our A game for 40 minutes.

My prediction...big game for Willy & Lyles & Aaron and we win a close one by 4.

Blu- good to see you back.

I've got a history of many monkeys. I have been a meat shield since age 3. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger? Nah, just scarred, paralyzed, jaded & bitter...thus I hang around the D for some base laughs and medicate vigorously.

I can't complain.... No one listens. :)

FCC - we are hanging in. It has been hard, but I think we are making progress. Girl Scout meeting was last night (wife is troop leader). It was supposed to be at the school, but someone forgot to open it. Ended up with 12 little girls running around the house last night. Our dog had a good time trying to herd them all. It was good to hear the happiness. We'll have a neighborhood Easter egg hunt tomorrow and diner with neighbors.

Agree. My 2 yr old grandniece and I both roll to 'Uptown Funk'. Her mom doesn't know it yet...but Bella is going to be the recipient of my taste for music. I was in the Navy when my nieces and nephews were young so I wasn't around enough to get them all involved. Now that the grands are here, Uncle Tee can babysit and teach to his heart's content!

No more tittays changed this season. It was a great run that just fell short. Good year for the Cats and it was a fun season to be a fan. And they played hard tonight. They whipped us on the boards and that killed us.

Mav...put those tittays on ice...

40-0 next season!

Welp. I need to revaluate my life. Letting this **** get to me is gonna kill me. First things first, I'm done listening to or reading any media unless it's UK's biased homer media. Ill turn the volume off from now on. I'm done with sports media. Done. So back to this revaluating my life. I'm too young and in too healthy to die a stroke. No more will I walk around UK arrogant. This game humbled me. Frankly, at this point, UK will never get me like it did this year. Just embarrassing. Cal coached a ****** game. Not even angry. Just ashamed I let this **** get me so worked up.

Re: D-League: Time for Nine Edition

I'm still so mad I can't touching see straight. WTF Cal? Did you really think 60 points with 5 minutes to go was enough to win?

We were up 60-56 with 5:15 to play. KAT has just drawn a charge and Wisconsin hasn't scored in 7 minutes. Our next four possessions go like this:
We screw around til 7 secs left and Aaron throws up a prayer with 1 left -- shot clock violation. Dekker drives and scores. 60-58We walk the ball up, screw around til 10 sec, get bailed out on a Harrison drive, wait til 5 sec AGAIN and then KAT gets stripped -- shot clock violation. Wisconsin scores on a shot clock violation. 60-60.We stand around til 7 seconds and Andrew throws up a contested prayer on a forced drive. Dekker then hits a three. Wisconsin goes up 63-60. We FINALLY start our offense with more than 10 seconds (GOLLY GEE WHIZ WHY START TRYING TO SCORE NOW?) on the shot clock and Lyles gets called for a charge. Game over.
Disclaimer: I love Jack Caligulari and absolutely think he's a perfect fit for UK. There's nobody else I'd want and nobody else who could have rescued us from the BCG fiasco. HOW-THE-TOUCH-EVER, if Tubby had had a sequence like that we'd have touching lambasted him AND RIGHTLY SO. This is 100% ON CAL GD IT. Going into stall ball with 5 minutes left completely destroyed our momentum. KAT should have touched the touching ball every GD trip the last five minutes AND GD IT CAL START YOUR TOUCHING OFFENSE BEFORE THE SHOT CLOCK GETS INTO SINGLE DIGITS. Seriously, it's like we were playing for the last shot of the game ON EVERY TOUCHING POSSESSION.

Five minutes is 1/8th of the GD game so basically we (i.e. CAL) just decided to not play the last 12.5% of the national semi-final. Way to piss away a great season, John.

Re: D-League: Time for Nine Edition

This was a fvcking meltdown. We had Booker and a Harrison switched on Kaminsky like 5 possessions in the 2nd half. Brutal coaching. Lip licking Irish guy laid the blueprint how to board when our bigs were dragged out.

A week to prepare and fix rebounding and we get abused on boards.

Lyles sucked the last 2 games.

Football season starts now. Any of these dudes come back, great. If not - Ciao.

Just a kick in the nuts. We should of won that game, I am still trying to process it. Gonna take a break from all things sports for a while. At this point, I don't even really care who goes or stays, just need to unplug for a while.

Hey, bro. I hear ya. Right after my post last night, I went to bed.

The Tubby Smith era started burning me out. We came so close in '03 and '05. I attended both Elite 8 games here in Austin at the Erwin Center back in 2005. As I sat up in the stands when the final buzzer sounded during that 2 OT MichSt game, I said to myself, "Tubby is in over his head". Losing to the Spartans and being denied a trip to the FF caused a temporary state of depression for about a week. A couple years later, Billy Gillispie's disaster of a coaching job sent me over the top. I suffered both strokes end of January and mid February. Of course, I was also under a lot of stress at the time, trying to finish my master's degree, facing a job layoff and working 60 hours weekly.

Cal and our players had a bad game last night. Wisconsin wanted this one more. Cal is a great coach and recruiter, and we are fortunate to have him.

Re: D-League: Time for Nine Edition

This entire week has been such a kick in the pants for me. Losing the game didn't even hurt that much last night. I agree with Willy about re-evaluating things in my life. I has gotten to the point where watching a game became less joy and more just a relief for it to be over. I've let this season consume me.

The sun is out and life goes on.

Re: D-League: Time for Nine Edition

Tough loss, guys. And I will say no more on that.

Easter service. Of course we have a church full of folks who only go to church on Easter and Christmas. Babies crying incessantly, and young children squirming. Young women wearing skirts/dresses more suited for Saturday night clubbing than Sunday morning services.

And yours truly trying to actually usher. To top things off...service starts at 11. 11 AM. I get a family of five that showed up at 12:24 (I was looking at the clock). 12:24. On. Easter. Sunday. And expected me to seat them all together. Wasn't happening. They ended up in the deacons stand. If you show up an hour and a half into the service...what's the point? You have missed everything except altar call and Communion.

Maybe I need to be a better Christian and just be glad they did that part at least.

Triangle- Yeah, I would've kicked a dog too. But last night I found Buddha. Because there is never permanence in life, one should not attach oneself to a situation where attachment will cause inevitable suffering.

93- Yep- Think about things. This next year I will have a new way to enjoy myself. The feeling of agony only to have relief once the game is over is no way to enjoy this.

FWIW- Bo Ryan is a lip lickin'(Kooky, 2015) racist.

I woke up, though it was bad dream/nightmare...but true. We had an incredible season, still little sour on our coach today though.

Have a good day all!
