Good morning folks.

Still in Kansas City. The news is good following my daughter's double mastectomy. The cancer had not spread to her lymph nodes and it APPEARS it was totally removed. Obviously, nothing is certain at this point. She had reconstructive surgery at the same time. My wife, the RN, has been doing the post-surgical care, and she tells me that the overall result has been a remarkable success.

My daughter is recovering fast enough that we'll probably head back to Washington DC tomorrow.

Thanks for all the well-wishes when I posted here that the surgery was happening.
Good news Md. hope and pray it is gone for good.

How 'bout them Cats last night? Long overdue.

Currently 40°F. Chilly breeze from the north.

Wishing y'all another peaceful Sunday.

Good morning folks. About to leave for the airport, and on from KC to DC. My daughter seems better every day. So I’m leaving happy, if tired. Hours of keeping a four-year old entertained has worn me out.

After another frustrating start the Cats beat a bad team. Lowe out again. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Quaintance has shut it down for the year. It might be best at this point to just move on from both of them. You can’t get any consistency from a team that never knows who is playing.

Hope you all have a good day.

Heard about these earthquakes Saturday. Daughter said she felt nothing.

I would be in the upper right hand of the map the first time it zoomed in.

I doubt I would wake up even if it was in my area. I don't sleep much, but when I do (combined with my lack of hearing) I'm hard to wake up. Last week at 1:30 AM my wife finally got me awake and said someone drove up our driveway (300' steep at the end of a narrow county road) and was walking around with a flashlight. I grabbed my .45 and a light and got to the door and hit them with my light when they were about 10' away. Dang, 2 uniformed state troopers!! I bent over and set my gun down and opened the door (still in my underwear). They apologized quickly, asked the address (it's confusing at our driveway which is in a sharp S curve). They were looking for a neighbor....could've ended badly.

On the gyro thread, someone said the merge will be this afternoon. If it ends us,, it has been nice knowing everyone.
The same to you, Bernie, and everyone else. I realized when Bert passed earlier this year I've known some of you guys a long time, and learned enough about some of you to miss that communication when it was gone. The meetings may have been virtual but the respect and the regard were real. Best of luck to all of you.
