D line is elite; We have an 8/9 win defense. Offense has to get it together

Typical to see such hyperbole after one good performance. I will say this is one heck of a positive adjustment from last week! If the D plays this well for a few more games then I too will be saying they qualify for elite status in the Beamer era.

A little concerned about Sellers' vision and feel for what's going on around him in his blind spots but he's shown a lot of improvement over last week. Gotta like that
If they don’t do a better job of protecting by better OL play or getting him out of the rush, it will take him a while to develop vision. I got tickled listening to Tommy Suggs talk about it, and got to a point to where he was speechless.

Worse case he gets a feel of what the OL cant do. I'll count that as progress too.

Im not saying it bc of just today. I saw the D line flashing this last year. And now after 2 games, its clear we have a very talented D line. Dylan Stewart looks better as a freshman than Clowney did.

Our D line today, looked how UGAs D line looks vs Kentucky.

Georgia usually can play their backups in the second half against kensucky.

You should’ve told them last week versus ODU. We have something to work with but are not in Georgia or Ohio States class right now.
I was hesitant bc assumed ODUs OL was bad. This isn’t a brag, bc DL is the only position Id say I know a lot about (played DL in FCS and coached it a couple years), but just watching our DLs fundamentals, hip bend, rush lane discipline, speed, collapsing pocket…..man they are GOOD. When I say elite as a group, I mean like a top 15 DL unit. Out of 130 teams thats elite

Same here. He played well when rolling out to the left. Other times he had a tendency to throw high and could also develop better pocket awareness. Some of that is on the O line.

No fanbase can go from "fire the coach" to "8/9 wins" and back as fast as SC.

If Sellers plays more like the TD drives and less like the fumbles, we're that on offense, too.
It’s more of the consistent playcalling and setting up the players in the right positions to make the plays than looking for the right playmakers to adjust to what Loggains is calling. Running Juju up the middle or off tackle ain’t it. Run Blocking has to be more aggressive and aware of who they’re blocking especially at the second level. Pass blocking has to pick up the blitzes and delayed pass rushers. If you look at the film we were B- at best and C for the majority of the game on offense (first half of play). I’m telling all of you now that our offense has to see better play calls from Loggains otherwise we finish with a mediocre record losing games we could have and should have won.

He showed improvement but I can see what you mean. I think he has the potential to be progressive so I have to disagree with your sentiment on benching Sellers. Ashford is too gung-ho and can’t read a defense well at all. Sellers is smarter just needs to gather his composure and break down the defense.

"Elite"? I don't think that word means what you think it means.

I think they just did a massive search to find better eyewear for Sellers and he is wearing them.
Need to find some with a warning signal of approaching rushers like backup cameras in automobiles.
