You would think that as many high, first round draft picks as they have had, that maybe they would have gotten lucky and had a couple of them come through and help them win. I'm not complaining though. Haha.

Didn't Roy Helu sign with the Raiders? I looked at the box score and didn't see his name anywhere. Is he hurt or just realize he signed with the Raiders and decide to retire?
He was injured during the preseason, listed third on the depth chart and was inactive for today. Sounds like he's healthy though, so I'm not sure why he wasn't activated today.
The Raiders consistently trot the lowest payroll in the league out on the field. They are garbage every season, not because of their top 5 to 7 players, but because they take 20 to 30 terrible players off the NFL scrap heap every season and pay them the NFL minimum.
People accused David Glass from the Royals of pocketing money every season for years while the team was garbage. Some of that criticism was warranted, but with the economics of baseball, Glass was trying to invest in the future of the organzation. It clearly worked.
The Raiders received just over $220 million dollars in revenue sharing from the NFL last year before they collected a single dime from ticket sales, concessions, or other revenue. Their payroll was just over 55 million. That's half of what the rest of the AFC West is spending. The biggest injustice in sports is how Al Davis's jacked up family is stealing millions from the NFL and Raider fans while their team i's substandard
Is there anything worse than your favorite NFL team stuck with a bad QB? What's worse, no matter how bad Jameis looks, you know, barring injury, he isn't going anywhere for a couple of years. I hated that pick from day one because I think he is a complete and total bust and I would be drunk every day if my Chiefs had drafted him. On the bright side, Jameis makes me feel pretty dang good about Alex Smith. I just wish the Bucs and Chiefs were in the same division.
I'm sure you do. That way between the Raiders and the Bucs, the Chiefs start off 4-0 before the first ball is snapped!
I was not happy when they drafted him either. But I jumped on board after he signed the next day or two and reported to camp. Was hoping that meant he would be prepared or at least look like he was progressing to the next level. But after the Cleveland pre-season game, I knew we were doomed. Couldn't handle the pressure at all. And like you sad, we are stuck with a multi million dollar QB for years I went through this with Testeverde back in the 80s so I'll just have to hope our Huskers can take up the slack of a non-existent NFL season for me again.
