I typically do that, but the only times he seems to pee everywhere is when I've turned by head for a second. But we have washcloths stashed on the changing table.

Momma is asleep in the bed. Kiddo is out cold in the rock and play with me in the living room. Dad is sipping coffee, catching up on catpaw, and watching a replay of our victory over USC.

This will all come crashing down any minute now, but for now this has been the best hour or so of my life since the baby arrived :pimp:

We've got some small improvements in the sanity department. Went to the Warehouse Street Fair last night. Crazy nights are a little less frequent but he's been sleeping in his nursery which I think has lead to less sleep actually. Starting to smile though.

Took 11 week old on plane to Florida last week/weekend. Slept entire flight there and back.

Also has gone twice in last week sleeping almost 6 straight hours at night.

Light at end of tunnel?

Also CONSTANTLY smiling which is such a incredible feeling each and every time.

Bought fur toddler on Saturday. She sweet and ornery. Has escaped crate, eaten donut, and 14oz pack of treats. She likes walks. Pretty good at sitting down. Shew, I'm pooped.

Whats the play for infants at games? We're passing on the first two but want to take him to an earlier game the first time?

Any experience with strollers? Is it just put him on like a backpack? Pay a peanut vendor to babysit?

Stash your booze in the diaper bag, for sure. They won't look too deep in those bags.

How do babies react to all that noise? Imagine it'll get pretty loud and rowdy for a few games.

Got my first experience with baby **** explosion last night. Out of her diaper, all up her back, soaked thru her clothes.

i agree with Larry David that the one benefit of having kids is that when you want out of something you can blame it on a sick kid.

My oversized 2 year old decided to knock out a chin up on my driver side door last week. Turns out the chrome plastic cant handle toddler weight. Booo.

I wonder if in the break down of "it takes 295k to raise a kid to 18" they have it broke down line by line. If so the "**** they break" line is 5 figures EASY.

Anth, I remember putting my daughter's stroller in your vehicle way back in the day when I brought her to the tailgate. I know some stadiums(like GABP) have areas set aside for infant care(with a stroller check, changing area, etc.), but I've never noticed one at CWS.

I remember my girls at that age both having major issues with the noise, especially the sudden pops from the crowd, fireworks, etc. It got to the point where I didn't take them back until they were 2 or so and could be prepared for the noises.

^Yeah, he has those. Seems to be fine with noises. We've had him in a few loud restaurants and bars. Turned the stereo up a few times. Plus the earmuffs. I was wondering more about the stroller.

I tried taking my kids to a couple of sporting events when they were really young and finally came to the realization that there was no point. My kids didn't enjoy the game, and neither did me and my wife since we had to deal and worry about the baby. Moreover, what with the noise, exposure to elements, and, for young babies, exposure to diseases, it was not a healthy environment for them.

PRO TIP: Leave infant at home. Restaurant noise does not equal fireworks, blaring horrible music and 4+ hours of mediocre football. Disaster written all over that plan. Take kid at age 5.

Anth, for future reference, that area at GABP is pretty cool. They'll give you a "George's First Game" certificate and some other stuff. Kinda nice to have that for his room, along with a ticket stub, etc. IMO.

We took our oldest son to his first game at 9 months. Used an umbrella stroller for the walk in and the usher stashed it somewhere for us once we got to our seats. He actually loved all the sounds and seeing the team come onto the field, and clapped every time he saw anyone else clapping. We had sat in the same seats for 10 years so we knew most everyone around us. My wife was pregnant the season before so they all knew we had a baby. It was a day game and a non conference opponent, so not quite as wild as normal. I think we left mid fourth quarter to beat some of the crowd. Of course he doesn't remember it, but as a new dad I really enjoyed sitting him on my lap and sharing something that I loved with him. We also took a play yard to tailgate so he had a place to nap and play. That was the only game he went to that season. He went to like 4 the next year.

Anth doesn't sit where most of us do, I don't believe. His experience might be a little less rowdy. I could be wrong.

Yeah, I don't plan on taking him to every game but we will be taking him to a few to get him used to it. Assuming we get a day game at some point. If he gets fussy my house is a 10 minute walk from my seats. If that wasn't the case we wouldn't even entertain it.

I hate taking kids to football games after about the first 45 minutes. Their attention span runs out and they want to go everywhere and to the bathroom a hundred times. I would do anything for my children, but dad needs a few hours to watch a sport that he paid a lot of money for. Sit down. We'll get up 2 minutes before the half unless we're driving down the field. That's it. Eat your $7 personal papa johns cold pizza.

Also, bring straws when they're 4 or so. Commonwealth doesn't have them, if you've never noticed.

Why not take them to a bar or strip club too?

Why let a kid ruin a good social engagement?

Its best to think of kids as ornaments or fixtures for your social circles. Can't let them stop the party train.

Several things:
1. We're pregnant again. If this one makes it, it will be out 2nd child.

2. Just got back from taking our 3.5 yr daughter to Disney Magic Kingdom. I tried to hold my wife back from wanting to take her to Disney for a few yrs.....of course, we all know how that went. (eye roll) But it went just like how I expected it would. Lots of carrying......lots of jockeying trying to find time for her nap.....lots of impatient waiting in lines....couldn't ride a fair portion of the rides b/c she wasn't big enough yet. And in the end she noted that her favorite thing was riding the carousel and meeting Elsa. Basically dropped well over $300 for a family of 3 to go to Disney for a day when all we had to do is go to a local county fair.

The wife and I had a lot of fun though. Neither of us had been back to the Magic Kingdom since around 1990. Had a flood of memories back. And, my wife did agree that I was right.....she was a bit too young to tackle Disney. So, in the end it was a decent trip......but it likely will be a few yrs before we go back.

Probably one of those things I say and later eat my words but Disney isn't happening. Touch that noise. Universal, maybe.

My wife is dead set on attending a friend's wedding in the South of France next Spring with our baby in tow (he would be ~one year old).

Afterwards, we would hook up with my cousin who lives in Paris and has "homes" in the South of France somewheres.

I told her to take a lot of pictures for me. :sunglasses:

False. I went. It sucked. Even a picture of me balling my eyes out with the 3 little pigs. Returned 15 years later and it still sucked.

You can excuse yourself from this thread. This is for the real dads to share info and support each other like real catpaw friends.

We went to Disney World way earlier than we planned, but that's because the trip was paid for. It's not for everyone, but I love the place. Still, wouldn't pay to take a kid until he/she was 4 or so and could handle it a bit better.

Universal doesn't have much for small ones. Great park for teens/adults, though.

Just bought the family an annual pass. My wife loves Disney. The twins are eleven so going out with a bang. My wife has already rented an RV. They bring it to the campground on Disney. In Spring, the temps have been perfect for that type adventure. I get a golf cart and a pretty nice set up. Come to think of it the first time I met Anth he was on a golf cart, in Columbia, laughing at my ***.

Wife wanted to take them when they were babies/toddlers and I vetoed that. We took them when they were 4.5 and they did great.
